This is a simple demonstration to help us answer our guiding question:
What happens when a HOT particle collides with a COLD particle?
Transcript:
*We're going to demonstrate what happens when a hot particle (Red) collides with a cold particle (Blue)
*Before the collision: The Blue Particle is moving slowly and has low kinetic energy (KE) where as Red is moving quickly and has high kinetic energy (KE)
*At collision: Energy is transferred from the Red Particle to the Blu Particle and from High KE to Low KE
*After collision: The Red Particle and The Blue Particle are moving between fast and slow and have medium KE
*If you were going to draw that interaction, it would look something like this...
