What I LOVE about all these spots and trailers is that they basically keep using the same footage over and over. Maybe a second or so different here or there.... So they are keeping you excited with the different themes off the trailers, but not ruining it by showing the whole film in the trailer. Masterclass technique Spyglass

Scream franchise has now risen above all horror franchises as the most consistent horror franchise, it’s so rare to get in the horror genre that the quality of every film being from good to awesome, not a single bad installment. And the filmmakers for the new trilogy from 5 onwards have so much passion for the existing lore as well, they are dedicated to keep this franchise the true champion of horror.

One of my criticisms of the Scream franchise has been that, despite being meta and self-aware of the slasher genre, it ironically couldn't stop referencing itself and its 'whodunnit' nature, despite there being so many different angles slasher movies can be done from. The idea of a ghostface finally saying 'fuck it' and going full Jason Vorhees in New York as a rip into a *different* part of the slasher genre is awesome.

This looks fun and all…but I will say that one thing I’ve always liked about Scream is that Ghostface is always an inexperienced killer, which leads to tripping, getting hit in the face, falling down stairs, etc. It adds a sense of realism and even some comedy into the way the killer works. So even though this does look cool, I hope ghostface isn’t like some trained assassin or something in this one.
