Volkswagen launched their Taos compact crossover a little while ago, sitting in as the smallest crossover offering here in Canada and the United States. The Taos is smaller than the Tiguan and serves as the brand's entry-level vehicle now that the Golf lineup is limited to just the GTI and R over here. James goes over the specs and features found on this vehicle along with how it compares to some of the other vehicles he's driven recently.

He takes the 2023 Volkswagen Taos on a real-world road test to see how this crossover drives, rides, and handles the tasks of being a daily driver, and some of his thoughts on this vehicle.

I heard that the Taos is a very low score in reliability due to problems with brakes, electronics and transmission. Do you know if this is true? I am planning to buy one but I am a little bit concerned, what do think? How about warranty.

Taos is a city and artist colony in the US state of New Mexico. My sister lives in New Mexico and they tend to pronounce it "Taos rhymes with House" not "Taos rhymes with Chaos" lol.

I drove it and I really liked it. Unfortunately my wife did not like the bolstered seats.

I have the AWD 2023 Taos and I think the exterior looks more like a baby Atlas instead of a Tiguan

Interesting, the Ontario press fleet Taos is the exact same color! Our review is in the works. Good higway car, but man the gearbox is clunky in city driving...
