Enabling DSR & VSR - Downscaled 4k on a 1080p Monitor
DSR is Nvidia’s Dynamic Super Resolution available for Maxwell & Pascal based Cards and onwards.
VSR is AMD’s Virtual Super Resolution it is available on their Radeon R9 285 card and onwards.

DSR & VSR are basically the same thing it’s the rendering of higher resoultions than are natively supported on your monitor then scaling them down. It provides very good picture quality. So basically you can render a game at 1440p or 4k then downscale it to a 1080p monitor and have amazing visuals. Obviously it is very intensive but if you have spare horsepower or playing an older game then it really makes the difference.

Nice video. I felt you could of mentioned that although it definitely improves video quality, It isn't as good as the real thing. 

But other than that I'm sure it will be useful. I just wouldn't want anyone coming away from this expecting 4k quality visuals on a 1920x1080 display.

Tried to do it with my newly acquired GTX 1070, unfortunately my cursor stays in a 1920*1080 box it seems and so I can't navigate the menu properly, did you ever have that issue ?

It would be nice to see how it looks to only super sample textures with lines and an alpha channel. That would fix fences and foliage; and cables hanging in the air if they're rendered the same.

Why my monitor if i want to have the desktop in 4K (Like a 4K Native) i see everything extremly tiny? Ho can i fix this? Becouse my friend set a DSR but he see like a 1080p with an higher resolution, not super tiny icons like me, WHY?!?!? D:

AMD just released ultrawide support so 2560x1080p goes to 5120x2160 my rx 580 is handling it perfectly so far!

Hey bored thank you for sharing this! Really love this function! However, it happens whilst I use the DSR that desktop icons messes up all the time when I launch an application rendered >1080p. Do you know if exist a fix for that? I can't find any!

rip nvidia g-sync with a SLI setup. They still havnt added the option to use DSR after 1, 5 year. :) :) :)

so when i play on a 1080p monitor and enable DSR to 1440p will it have the quality of a normal 1440p will it play only as if it was a 1440p monitor
