This exercise is often used to resolve achilles tendinopathies. But it is also a great exercise for strengthening the achilles AND improving mobility.

I had to do this in PT for my achilles tendon on Thursday. My legs are literally on fire still!

any opinions on how many repetitions and how many sets might be a good number to do in a day? Thanks

How about doing this on the toes with a toe spread "short foot" type grip for plantar fasciitis and weak feet in general? I know it takes pretty strong feet to do that but for runners it's kind of a relative strength issue.

When it comes to tendons rehab/prehab
I'm always asking myself:
"Why to avoid the concentric phase of the exercise?
Is there difference in muscle-tendon adaptations and/or clinical outcomes between
eccentric only VS concentric-eccentric exercise/loading?
