I have used these for a few years now on a 4wd Nissan Xterra in and around Big Bear Lake CA.  From inch thick ice to 14" of snow, I've always been surefooted with these.  I have even pulled a contractors loaded down E-350 up a 30deg grade during a flash ice storm which left a couple of inches of glass smooth ice on the roads in a matter of minutes.  In fact I pulled 5 vehicles out that night, and many others who make the mistake of trying to take a shortcut up my road when the snow falls.  The only suggestion I can give, especially if you live where the temperature doesn't warm back up is to keep a can of spray antifreeze with you.  I have had a couple times when the tightening system got frozen stuck from melt getting inside and refreezing.  Minor flaw, easily corrected.  If they did get frozen and you were stuck without it, put the chains in a safe spot in your engine bay for 10 minutes to melt any water inside the mechanism before installation.

Just used today for the first time on my 03 ford ranger, couldn’t get out of my house because my truck is rwd and very light so traction sucks. there is a small incline right out my driveway so i was going back instead of forward. Installating took about 10 min each side since it was my first time installing and had to figure it out. I got out easily after putting them on, you can hear them breaking thru ice and very quiet on packed snow very loud on dry pavement. Very easy to take out. Strongly recommend.

Lots of people are still confused. Get the chains out of the box and give it a try. Its very easy to install. Used on both my Ram 2500 and my Jeep without any issues. This is my 4th season on the same 2 pairs of chains.

It actually was this easy once you get the hang of it. First time things got jumbled when we slid the chains behind the tire but 2nd time we pushed them further away from the tire and nothing got tangled. Once you see how it goes on, it’s super super easy. I did them by myself 5 min each side no problems at all. I can’t believe how many times I froze trying to get other chains on and off. I can’t believe how easy these are!

Had the same problem everyone was saying until I literally got under my car and made sure there wasn't any extra links stuck under the tire where it meets the asphalt. Sometimes you have some hidden slack stuck!

0232805 does NOT fit 275/60R/20 tires. Unfortunately I realized this while trying to put these chains on during a snow storm.

Video uses larger size to make them easier to install. Still good product but best to practice

What size tire chains are being used in the video? I drive 265/70 R16 (same car as in video - Toyota Sequoia) Will Peerless Chain Auto-Trac Light Truck/SUV Tire Chains, #0231810 work?

Are these as good as regular tire chains?    The tire chains are bigger and much heavier.
We keep these in the emergencyehicle (2008 Ford Expedition with directional rotation Winter tires) for use when transporting blood and platelets to hospitals on highways and interstates closed due to snow.

How do I slide the chain initially? do I need to jack up or drive over it or some other way?

Impossible to untangle. Tangled straight out of the box. I’m going back to conventional chains.

Please update your tire sizing. I'll be returning 0155005 as they do not fit 215/65-17 like your website claims.

I just bought these for my Audi Q5 and I'm sad to say I'm going to return them because they don't fit. I spent about 2 hrs trying to get them on, but I finally gave up and will send them back.

The hose that covers the steel cable is blue but 1 of the ends is red. What that is supposed to mean?

I’ve been trying to install one chain for an hour now and the damn thing won’t untangle. In a dry heated garage. The old Thules I used to have installed in 10 seconds. Wtf?
