Their second Congratulations is also very Barrett-esque. Try the tracks Song For Dan Treacy, Lady Dada's Nightmare, Brian Eno, and Congratulations, if not the full LP

Not a huge fan of MGMT's earlier albums, but their new one had a lot of neo psych sounding stuff in it, reminded me of the Pink Floyd's Piper at the Gates of Dawn.

i always thought stuff like The Boxcar Rattle and maybe the black keys were fall under blues punk

I feel like the neo-psych movement is just as predictable as most genres that have gained traction in traditional indie circles. Tame Impala and Foxygen aren't doing anything that of Montreal or any of the other Elephant 6 bands haven't done already, better, and 15 years earlier.I think post-hardcore bands like La Dispute and Touche Amore, who've moved away from "scene" post hardcore bands like those found on Warped Tour are really the ones innovating in today's rock climate.
