Enjoy the new episode! I have many more fun things planned so hopefully The Curse will be nicer to me next time. My cheap "iPhone clone" episode will be out next week! Stay tuned! 🔔 Got some more scam-busters coming too! 😈

FYI, about the "original god stress free", it's a literal translation of "runs Genshin Impact flawlessly" from Chinese. The more you know

Have you tried different RAM sticks? Many computers will not display anything without RAM installed. The fan being stuck in a boot loop can also be a sign of bad RAM. Perhaps, this is the only nonfunctional component?

Aw man that sucks… Really hoped to see some Hackintosh action on this thing…
That thing really looked nice from the front, if not even promising for great tech adventures.

The powdered 3D-print is called SLS, it's a nylon powder that is heated with a laser to make it melt together.

You can literally talk about broken cheap plastic and a broken computer for 10 minutes and get views still lol. Great vid as always.

that looks like an lga1150 motherboard, in my experience the mounting pressure of the ilm might've been off and or some of the plastic in the socket broke off, and or a missing/bent pin

If I had to guess, the plastic of the case is Polypropylene, it's the only 3D printable plastic I can think of that is both really cheap and pretty weak. It's the plastic used to make disposable plastic grocery bags.

I guess it wasn't worth swapping out the board for you own, and also trying to glue the case back together?

I wonder if you could 3d-print your own version of this and stick your own PC in it, that might make for a fun video.

This is one reason why I was hesitant to buy a cheap computer/router from Aliexpress, even though it had better NICs than the Wyze system I ended up buying.

You can replace that entire motherboard, cpu, and ram for less than what the shipping is going to cost to return that. At the very least pull the fan and cpu to see if there are any bent pins.

the old extra shipping scam, common on aliexpress. cancel or wait until they are forced to send it and when they give you a fake tracking number open a dispute.

if you're lucky the tracking will say "Shipment Cancelled" and they won't give you a valid tracking number that's heading somewhere else.

With all the times I have done business with Alliexpress (and the others) when it came to returns it was like playing Russian Roulette with 5 bullets in the six shooter. It would either get sized by overseas customs, the address was fake, and/or the seller just disappear off the face of the earth (including the store front) so I treat buying from there like it's a Kickstarter site (buy at your own risk) while using PayPal for payments only. Also when a seller asked for more money for shipping I would just cancel the order, and get a refund instantly cause 99% of the time that is a scam too. I've done business like that for around 12+ years.

If you dont see layers, i dont think that thing is 3d printed (FDM). It will take time and isnt cheap if you are doing a lot.

It's really common for the fan to stay on when a component is removed, especially if the fault of the system happens at a point in POST after the component you removed, so the system has a longer cycle before it shuts off and starts over. I think you may be running into a communication error between the memory controller and RAM. At least that is my theory of why it happens...the main point is I saw this specific thing happen a lot in my hands on PC repair days. You might have luck replacing the CPU? If possible. But it may not be worth the effort, as you've said.

LGR, Computer Clan, and The 8 Bit Guy all in the same photo! I'm having a Nerdgasm! Is there a recording of that panel discussion anywhere?!

That’s sad, because I really like the idea. I have wanted a computer in that form factor for quite a while, but of course I won’t gut an old mac for that..

Accurate recreation of brittle old Apple plastic.

That's a usual scam on AliExpress asking for extra postage, never pay they have to send.
