1985 Ford Ranger Motorcraft 2150 Carburetor rebuild part 1– tear down

It’s time to tear into the carburetor on my 1985 Ford Ranger. It was missing, running poorly, down on power, hard to start, wouldn’t idle and got terrible gas mileage. Since it is a barn find and sat for many years it is most likely a seal or gasket or rust and sediment from the gas tank blocking passages inside the carburetor. Carburetor kits are cheap, and rebuilding is not hard but it is time consuming and can seem very daunting at first. This episode I take it all apart and find out what is causing my running and drive ability issues. I talk thru the rear down and show you everything I can.

Holley makes a self contained fuel injection unit that will make the truck run better and improve mileage.

"The top of the carburetor is often called the airhorn; I don't know why..."
*takes off 'airhorn'*
....
*Me, disappointed that there were no airhorn sound effects there*

Look here; as a registered Dad, your videos need 1000% more Dad jokes.
