The first time I saw zday made me unable to forget about it eventhough it has been years it is still fresh in my memories and I'm just glad to know that they didn't stop developing the game :D

I'm so glad to see this game got sped up in development. The last time I checked the dev had a thread saying it was pretty much only him working on the game, and that if any developing was being done it was at a crawl.

Judging from the video you and your team are doing a great job, and I'm glad to see it didn't slow to a stop. Awesome job man. My excitement from a few years ago has come back, and I can't wait to see what you guys bring to the table.

No worries - I'm the lead developer on ZDay btw, the release of DayZ was a pain as our design was very similar but it did prove the concept would be a popular one. We've just got to rethink some design decisions to make ZDay still a unique game

Its crazy to think about how this game could have been the first open world zombie survival game, but instead faded away. I first heard about this game about 10 years ago, I recently thought about it and came to check out this video. Too bad the game died, the developers could have been rich.

Go to the website for this game, there's a lot of information there. ZDay has been in production for a LONG time, especially because the original dev group fell apart and then they had to switch engines. So, back then, all of their ideas were pretty new. Pretty sure this was started before/around L4D, and back then, a free-roaming zombie survival FPS was an amazing concept.

This game has been in development for the last few years (just look at the dates to previous videos posted by zdaygame), well before anyone had heard of DayZ.
The design is based on similar concepts but neither game is a copy of the other.

Well we certainly have a lot of features planned that should set us apart from anything out there right now. As has been stated, this game was in development well before Day Z came into existence, and it will almost certainly be released under a different name in order to remove the association. The team has grown a lot lately, and more updates will be coming soon!

Holy crap, this game is still going on? I remember following and supporting this game's development back in late 2010. By the time I had left a bunch of developers moved on and the community shrunk drastically, then the game kinda died from there. I'm glad the game's development has picked up again, I was always a little depressed that these guy's dumped so much of their time into this game only to have it wither away without even releasing. This is not a DayZ ripoff, this game is much older.

P.S. As far as I know, development for the game started at least as far back as 2008. Meaning this game might be older than L4D, is definitely older than Arma 2, is WAY older than DayZ, and is ancient compared to The War Z.
