This highlight is from 'Understanding Colour Harmonies Redux'

Why did we redo this video? We realised we could explain some things better and we had feedback about audio quality. We are hoping that extra info helps you with your understanding.

Colour harmonies are usually treated in two ways, wait what? or I hate them. However, it doesn't have to be that way we break down what colour harmonies and how to use them, with simple language and visuals so anyone can understand.

GW never really updated colour specs. The red used to be tactical marine bolter casing and the yellow was initially used for the now gold trim. Look at old model colour schemes and have a good chuckle. I

Thank you for the info! Honestly makes sense & it’s such a simple thing new painters won’t even consider/think about!

Oh and black and white ALWAYS work anywhere, everywhere, and nowhere.
No exceptions - discuss it with them

That was very nice short and well made tutorial. I've got to watch full video now haha

I like to also paint one or both of the knees a different color to give the models a unique look to them or I'll paint the rectangle to look like a mohawk

Or just.... Paint how you want. *Revolutionary!*

Now if you add in the red on the helmet or hands that bumps it from 10 to a 20, and the blue to a 40? If I got that correct?
Edit. Yup. Definitely got it wrong

And here you guys go making the grade for helping me with the army I own that I am EASILY least motivated to paint, they are in queue, but this might bump them a spot or two

What's about the black or the gun?

Never heard of such a thing. I knew GW was small about things, but I'm glad that my area skips 90% of throw bull.
We play the game to have fun and actually "play the game". Sure painted miniatures look nice in the table but, not everyone has the time or the interest to do that. Bring on the unpainted gray masses and let's have fun, who cares?

Really like your approach to minis through classic color and design theory ❤ You have some artistic backgrounds? (except for minis ofc)

Jokes on you mine are like 30% white 30% black 20% blue, 10% red, 5% silver, 5% yellow

Not you saying ultramarines wear navy blue rather than ultramarine blue

If the bolter is read as blue that shits like 80% blue

Okay but that gold is a brown with metallic effect, not a yellow.

That's interesting. How would you approach it if it was a model without power armor? Clothes and skin mostly.

So this is why 3rd company ultramarines just look better (they have red trim around their pauldrons instead of gold)

If you don’t like ultramarines just shove it and don’t make videos about them fellas
