Bolin is by far my favorite character from LoK. I wish the relationship with Ghazan as rivals have developed a little bit more.

Varrick and Zhu Li are the Tony Stark and Pepper Potts done right. But Bolin is such a well-written character, I was so proud of him when he lavabended for the first time. And to see him improve on this skill in Book 4 was great

I would personally say his traditional earth bending could use some work, as his defenses crumble rather easily.

For someone who did adopt a more agile method of Earthbending, it suits Bolin so well that he learned Lavabending (instead of the Metalbending he originally wished for).

Although, it's strange how both Lavabending skills are on different pathways, suggesting that neither are prerequisites of the other.
Wouldn't it make more sense to have Lavabending as a prerequisite of Advanced Lavabending?

Honestly I was on board with you guys on the "thing doing" ability. xD

Season 3 he really became a great character. You saw him struggling with trying to metal bend and all of the sudden lava bending became natural to him. He saved everyone when Bolin lava bend the lava away from him when escaping the air temple turned into lava by Gezon.

From the whole ATLA and LOK, Bolin is the best character in my opinion. Loyal, friendly, charismatic, always optimistic, a great teammate. I love him. Truly on my Number 1 spot

Bolin and lavabending- as far as I personally understand it, lavabending is so rare that only 3 benders have managed it (that's counting Bolin)

Bolin, the red lotus-dude he faces against often (something with a G....)

and Avatar Kyoshi, tho I've HEARD that's debatable whether she used lavabending or not that's beside the point


it's as rare to earthbending as the unassisted-flight is to airbending.
