Story Behind the Struggle:
Getting this video recorded, edited, and uploaded has been QUITE THE ORDEAL. As many of you know, the first time I recorded this video for 1.5 hours just to find out my microphone was off the whole time. Then, I rerecorded the videos, and part way through filming my phone decided to update randomly. So, I finished recording using my husband's phone. I struggled to get them uploaded onto my computer. Once I finally got all of the footage uploaded and was editing, I found that I was missing a few "chunks" of footage. After I rererecorded those clips, got all the footage onto my computer, and it was too much storage that I couldn't finish editing. I got enough files off of my computer so I could finish editing, but then did not have enough storage to export it. FINALLY, after ordered an external hard drive, moving my edited video footage over, deleting my original, I was (by the grace of God) able to export the video. As I type this my video sits at 50% uploaded (after uploading since 7pm the night before)...so if it does indeed get published, I will be amazed. Thank you for everyone who shared their positive news / encouraging words with me in the "community" tab. I haven't replied back to many, but I do read your words and it was way more filling for my soul than I imagined. Thank you!!!

Words for my Protestant Brothers and Sisters:
Please know that I don't believe the differences of our faith will keep us from the same eternal end with Jesus in Heaven. (Side note: Catholics also don't believe that only Catholics can get to Heaven.) There are many things we find common ground on, and our love of Jesus speaks louder than any difference. But speaking for myself personally, I always want to express my Catholic beliefs, as well as my disagreements as gently as I can. It is never my intention to speak ill of any denomination or religion, but I do want to share the WHY behind my strong Catholic faith. I pray that God will mend the differences between us, and ignite a fire for us all to do His will.

I love how you said there are so many misconceptions about what Catholics teach.. and through my own research - I found this also to be so incredibly true!

I’m still a Protestant, and since there are no scriptures that tell me to ask for Saints to pray for me.. I play it safe, and I don’t because I fear the Lord too much. I see no examples of Jesus doing it either, and He is who I strive to be like.

But I did have a pretty interesting experience before I was saved. My dad had passed several years ago and I remember asking him to please just help me figure out the truth. I then had a dream I was standing in an open space with him, and he was just hugging me. I’ve been in the empty same space where we spoke telepathically two other times with passed loved ones. It was maybe a month later after the dream of my dad that the Lord had saved me. I still can’t make sense of it to this day.

“You will know them by their fruits” - I have no doubt that you have true fruits, Kelsey.. even though we disagree on some things, we both agree that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and we are saved by grace through faith alone. I know I will see you one day in heaven! ♥️

Kelsey, thank you for making this video. We really need more female apologists in the Church. As a convert to Catholicism from 20 years of Protestantism, I think these videos are so important. I was actually converted via an apologist friend and am forever grateful. I have never been more in love with Christ and His plan has never been more clear to me. ❤ You have no idea who this might reach.

Paul was telling us to pray for each other, but he was never talking about the dead praying and interceding for us. The Bible is very clear about not talking to those who have passed, or praying for those who have passed.

Kelsey,
You are excellent and I am so happy to have found your channel. The devil did not want you to make this video but praise God for your persistence despite technological difficulties! Thank you for speaking on this topic to reach your unique viewers. Your research into this video is thorough; love to re-listen to great points by Trent Horn, Jimmy Akin, etc.
Thank you for convicting me to dress more modestly, for helping fill my mind with more memorized scripture, and being a comendable model as a mother, teacher and example to your children. I look forward to all your videos! Wish I lived nearby. 😊
God bless your family 🙏🏻🥰

The Bible does say that it is inspired by the Holy Spirit and all of scripture points to God and Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh.

“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
- Acts 16:30-32

But if we confess our sins to God, He can always be trusted to forgive us and take our sins away.
- 1 John 1:9

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men - the man Christ Jesus.
- 1 Timothy 2:5

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
- John 3:17

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
- Galatians 1:8-9

Just as a father has compassion on his children, the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him. For He understands how we are made, He remembers that we are dust.
- Psalm 103:13-14

The Bible is the Word of God, sharper than any two edged sword. and is trustworthy and reliable. We don't need any other book telling us what to believe or how we should live. The only book we need is the Bible

I do understand God's Word through the power of the Holy Spirit, not by reading commentaries

What are Christian saints according to the Bible?

The word “saint” comes from the Greek word hagios, which means “consecrated to God, holy, sacred, pious." It is almost always used in the plural, “saints.” "…Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he did to Your saints at Jerusalem" (Acts 9:13). "Now as Peter was traveling through all those regions, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda" (Acts 9:32). "And this is just what I did in Jerusalem; not only did I lock up many of the saints in prisons …“ (Acts 26:10). There is only one instance of the singular use, and that is "Greet every saint in Christ Jesus…" (Philippians 4:21). In Scripture there are 67 uses of the plural “saints” compared to only one use of the singular word “saint.” Even in that one instance, a plurality of saints is in view: “…every saint…” (Philippians 4:21).

The idea of the word “saints” is a group of people set apart for the Lord and His kingdom. There are three references referring to godly character of saints: "that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints …" (Romans 16:2). "For the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12). "But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints" (Ephesians 5:3).

Therefore, scripturally speaking, the “saints” are the body of Christ, Christians, the church. All Christians are considered saints. All Christians are saints—and at the same time are called to be saints. First Corinthians 1:2 states it clearly: “To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy…” The words “sanctified” and “holy” come from the same Greek root as the word that is commonly translated “saints.” Christians are saints by virtue of their connection with Jesus Christ. Christians are called to be saints, to increasingly allow their daily life to more closely match their position in Christ. This is the biblical description and calling of the saints.

How does the Roman Catholic understanding of “saints” compare with the biblical teaching? Not very well. In Roman Catholic theology, the saints are in heaven. In the Bible, the saints are on earth. In Roman Catholic teaching, a person does not become a saint unless he/she is “beatified” or “canonized” by the Pope or prominent bishop. In the Bible, everyone who has received Jesus Christ by faith is a saint. In Roman Catholic practice, the saints are revered, prayed to, and in some instances, worshiped. In the Bible, saints are called to revere, worship, and pray to God alone.

Mary and the saints, and anyone else is not omnipotent. Only God is. Only God can hear our prayers from Heaven.

Prayer is a form of worship. We are not to pray to anyone except God. The Bible is very clear about not talking to the dead. Those people that you pray to are dead. They are not alive except in Heaven, and they do not intercede for us, and why would they when we ourselves can come to our Creator; the living God ourselves. We don't need anyone to intercede for us if we can come to God ourselves. The Holy Spirit interceded for us when we don't know what to pray, but that's it.

I would absolutely give someone a Bible, and trust that the Holy Spirit will give them understanding. Also, I would study the Bible with them and walk with them in this faith; it's called making disciples.

Yes, we are to teach and disciple one another, but we teach from no other book but the Bible. Everything we teach is from the Bible. But also, don't underestimate the power of the Holy Spirit; he alone CAN bring understanding of the Bible to someone

I'm sure this video will be great! Don't worry about the trolls in the comments either, I'm sure it's to be expected with these sorts of videos. We have the truth on our side!

Thank you for your articulate explanations of the Catholic traditions, using scripture, truth & references to back it up. I was born & raised a Roman Catholic and your videos have led me back to God and the church. ❤ As a child I was told that Protestant faith is derived from the word “protest”. My bible contains all of the apocrypha books that were original to the bible.
My closest friends are baptists and it saddens me that they try to convince me that my infant baptism meant nothing. It’s frustrating to be told I should be/must be baptized by being immersed in water. (being baptized twice is actually a sin). They are sincere Jesus loving people but sadly lack the critical thinking skills to understand the traditions of the Catholic Church. Their participation of the Eucharist (communion) is a plate of broken up saltine crackers passed around & tiny cups of grape juice. 😳
Perhaps the most disturbing of their beliefs is that “I’m a Catholic, not a Christian”. What?
Thank you for the excellent reference points that I can share. Thank you for your beautiful Godly & stewarding videos, & for your prayers that we can all come together in Jesus’s teachings. 🙏
