What Does The Indian Youth Lie About?

What makes the youth lie? Do they feel any pressure from the society? What can be done? Hear from them.

Hahaha, we are overplaying it folks! My parents do not smoke or drink but I am sure that there were many in their generation who smoked/drank and concealed it from their parents (i.e. our grandparents' generation). While I certainly condemn parents who don't allow their kids to choose careers of their choice and take risks, I feel they are somewhat right when they scold you when they catch you drinking or smoking because you are affecting your health. Coming from conservative backgrounds, they won't be able to easily digest the hyper-sexual lives of their children. Children must also understand that the fact they are leading hyper-sexual lives just because 'mah life, mah rules' has become very fashionable and they are most of the times falling prey to their hormones. We must also remember the fact that they grew up in non-liberalization era where they did not have a lot of avenues to party or hang out late night anyway. As Steve Jobs said, people don't know what to buy until you show them. Our parents were alien to the concept of a nightclub etc so they never really bought into that idea. With our generation it's different. And so on...

It's good that our generation knows about these stuff... maybe because of this, our next generation will not have to face such problems

Love this vdo so much!! There was a time when I used to lie ALOT but now
I won't say that I can relate to this vdo bcz I guess I am lucky as my mum is not my mum but is my BEST FRIEND!!
She also knows about my current boy friend, allows me for night out etc! Being Frnz with your parents is a task ! Its not easy.. you need to make efforts to build that relationship! The thing parents need to understand is that WHY is my child lying about something ? The time they start focusing on 'WHY', there will be a change ! But even we need to understand that they r from 60s or 70s their thinking is also influenced by their parents can't blame any1 but just gain that trust! :)

I can relate to this video.
Being an 'Indian' kid with so much of society pressure, it's damn hard for me to get out of the closet with fact that I'm a lesbian.
No matter how much my parents pretend that this doesn't affect them and no matter how many times they refuse to openly talk about it, I know that they won't be able to accept me the way I am.
Lying is not an option, but openly coming out about yourself in India takes balls.
Being an individual what I feel is that except my parents nobody has a say about the life I live.
I'm not being a rebel, but I'm very open about myself socially and don't really care about what the "society" will think.
I'm proud of myself and my relationship with my partner.

I find it painful, utterly painful to not be able to tell the truth to my parents. If people stopped judging people, people would literally start crying into each others arms for emotional support.

The sole reason v hve to lie to our parents is bcoz of the generation gap tht exist.... lyin is nt fun or v njoy doin it... its bcoz v are left wth no othr option....

we can't change it...i mean they should understand that their time was their time..our time is our time...it's different...the way they say.."hamare jamane me hum ye karte the, wo nai karte the..etc etc." yaar 'jamana' changes..it's really impossible to make them understand..

Not EVERYONE does that.
Its just that this video INTENDS to make us think otherwise.

There are children who share pretty much everything with their parents.
The sexual part (may not be so much) but people/children do share everything (sharable.)

Really appreciate your work, as I am youth of India. But now as parent of two kids I want to know from the parents of all character you filmed in this video that what they think about there kids and about the question you asked to youth.

I want this because, it make sense to keep both side transparent instead of one side i.e. reaction of youths.
