Question everything including this. The hand positions are called mudras, they each have their own purpose but nothing is truly ever a prerequisite for enlightenment. You don’t need anything to get your awareness to expand and deepen, just a commitment to yourself to discern what is real and what isn’t. The more you pay attention the lines between reality and illusion start to blur but keep moving forward, don’t look back, you must dissolve until there’s nothing left of you, only awareness. If you see fear arise, that is another movement in the pure awareness that you are. If you feel like you got it, look again that is another movement which is not permanent.
