I can’t believe Charlie beat the main villain first try.
I of course mean Rick The Door Technician.

Their views were absolutely aligned UNTIL Cal thought about taking the Hidden Path there as well. The most important thing for Bode was that he and his daughter could escape the Empire and never be caught again. Bringing the Hidden Path meant that there would be an eventual conflict between them and the Empire - something Bode did not want for Kata under any circumstance. He was never loyal to the ISB or the Empire, but ultimately he simply lost faith in Cal.

Also the cutscene where cal mourns Cere visually was fuckin stunning. That little segment of the game. The twist, chase, scripted loss, and Vader fight was so fucking crazy

at 6:16:20 charlie says "what's the alternative?" but the whole point of Bode being there alone was that he wasn't a threat to the empire, the empire has no desire to find him, but with the hidden path and cal there, that puts tanalorr as a major threat to the empire. It was so clear to me why Bode did what he did and I don't know why Charlie didn't understand.

Charlie is the only person I've seen having a problem with the ending. It makes sense why he doesn't want a preparing army next door to his daughter and a possible warzone if the Empire ever caught wind of it, especially if Vader or even the Emperor was made aware of an new possible Jedi Order. Cal wants to continue the fight with the Empire while Bode doesn't want to but they both want the same place which is where the conflict comes from. It seems like a really easy thing to understand but Charlie getting stuck on that is strange.

3:16:20 is the moment their views diverged. Bode just wanted a place for his daughter to be safe but Cal wanted to use Tanalor for the hidden path, to train to fight the empire. But with the way things are, they would be found eventually.

I think the reason why he didn't want to give it to the hidden path was because it was going to be their new HQ, where they train new Jedi. So it wouldd eventually get discovered so that's why he didn't want to give it to them.

This just reinforces my believe that when streaming a game like this a good 30% of the story narrative is gonna be lost or missed just cuz of lack of attention and multitasking with chat

I thought the ending motive was extremely clear and also very realistic. It's exactly how I would imagine a real father would act out of irrational fear mixed with love for their child in the midst of danger. In his head, he was perfectly fine with going to Tanalorr with just him and Cal, but then Cal offered the planet to the hidden path, which is one of the biggest targets for the empire (so much so that Vader showed up personally). That is when his fear kicked in. He knows that with the hidden path on Tanalorr, the Empire would eventually find it and invade it (just as the invaders in the beginning of the game did to Dagan). While his actions were irrational, they are completely understandable when you think of his point of view.

I get Charlie's stance on the twist, but as many others point out in the comments, the risk for his daughter is so much higher when you have the network of Rebels and Jedi like the Hidden Path is. He also mentions how if they all stayed on Tanalorr, the Empire wouldn't find them without the compass or the array, but we see in one of Dagan's flashbacks that the Nihil showed up in mass force, presumably without either. It would only be a matter of time before the Empire found it, especially with the greatest pilot in the galaxy as a sith lord. The more refugees go to Tanalorr, the more attention it gets from the Empire, the more risk Kata is in, and the more unhinged Bode becomes.

EDIT: I've recently found out about the Nihil's ability to hyperspace jump to anywhere they well please, which is really cool! But even with that, I still believe it's definitely a matter of when and not if the Empire could show up to Tanalorr if they devoted the right resources to it, once they discover how vital it is to the Hidden Path.

this is why i always take any review charlie makes about a game with a extremely small grain of salt, dude jumps to conclusions about damn near everything, without doing any type of logical thinking

Charlie guesses the betreyal but then ignores all the reasons for it lol

I don't know why Charlie is so stubbornly stuck in his view when he's dead wrong. He must not have been paying attention at all. Bode was planning on escaping to Tanalorr with Cal and the others until he wanted to give it to the Hidden Path - who would be ferrying in and out refugees and military assets constantly, which would draw attention to Tanalorr. And Bode also didn't want to start an army to fight the Emprie, he just wanted a safe place to settle down with his daughter and friends.

The Hidden Path are literally some of the most wanted group of people to the Inquisitors, being pretty obvious because literally Vader showed up to deal with Cere. They escaped so they were still going to be hunted and them going to Koboh and Tannalore would definitely give them time to hide, it would eventually be discovered. Bode's reasoning is still completely vile but it's because he wants to be 100% sure that the empire wouldn't come looking for them. Two Jedi living there lives out in a place no one can find? Not a problem. A new place for the Jedi to train and possibly become a threat to the Empire again? Definitely worth searching for and eliminating ASAP. So... it makes sense to me.

3:34:09 it’s so cute how cal hugs bd-1 to protect him from the blast I can’t believe there’s no comments about it

I had a feeling this game was going to have the return of the jedi type ending. I never expected cere or cordova to die. What a cliff hanger. Cant wait for Jedi 3

Bode didn't want Tanalor to become a place to train an army to fight the Empire. He betrayed Cal the moment Cal made that suggestion

It's crazy how things are better when you actually pay attention.
