Leonardo DiCaprio Reveals Star Wars Meeting with George Lucas (Flashback)

ET spoke with Leonardo DiCaprio in 2000 about his life and career following the phenomenal success of ‘Titanic.’ DiCaprio also reveals details about being in the running to portray Anakin Skywalker in ‘Star Wars.’

Playing a character in the star wars franchise is a huge decision. I can't ever imagine him coming back to play the same role down the road, not after the SERIOUS roles he's done in other movies.

Tbh he looks more like Jake Lloyd than Hayden did but Hayden still knocked it out of the park

Not to shed any hate on Hayden Christian, but I think Leonardo would've been a perfect Anakin. He even could've played the character more than once it could've changed his career in a different way, despite that he has always played real-life people.

For Leo, who himself is always bigger than the character he plays, it is a good decision not to play Anikin in Star Wars.

Incredibly gifted & young uprising actor as he was even in 2000, I'm not sure being in the star wars prequels would've been best for him. I mean, they weren't great written or developed movies. And not even Leonardo DiCaprio could've made them better. So yeah, he made the right call to decline the role for episode ll & lll😌
