My heart also skipped a bit when Rick said his book expert is not around..

Rick: "even though my book expert isn't here, I feel confident making an offer"
Rebecca, miles away: "...I sense a great disturbance in the force..."

Just love to see Rick pay extra or reasonable price to customers. Though it happened by a mistake yet im feeling so satisfied. 😂

Rick did some mind control on the guy with the books

These books, by themselves, are beautiful. Would love to have them just to look at them, and of course, read them...

Rebecca needs her own show where people bring books into her shop. It would be educational and hugely popular.

Eventhough I know nothing about book collecting and generally have no interest in it, i actively seek out the pawn stars videos on books just for Rebecca

The beautiful craftsmanship and artwork in those books took lots of time, patience and skill. Draftsmen still create drawings used to produce blueprints on vellum....no chance of being hacked on a computer. : )

When I saw it was about books, my mind said, "Rebecca"! Glad I wasn't disappointed.

*I came for Rebecca! As soon as he said she wasn't around, I changed it. I don't like watching Rick constantly lowballing his customers with lame excuses.*

The guy seems to be totally unaware that the whole concept of limited editions only became a thing at the end of the 19th century. In the 17th century they just made as many as they could sell.

Ironically, things produced in larger numbers in the past are these days much rarer, and often worth more than limited editions. This is because limited editions are looked after and kept, because owners think they are valuable, so the whole edition is likely to survive, whereas things mass produced were often discarded because they are not perceived as being valuable. As a result the surviving examples can be very rare, sometimes with just one or two examples still in existence.

Thus the fact that the book is 6/10 is an indication that it is definitely not hundreds of years old.

Man...if he lost $500 on the deal...i think he might have lost his business and had to declare bankruptcy

My beautiful Rebecca you're the only reason I watch these videos. I often imagine us together, you nerding out and talking about books, and me nodding my head pretending to understand having absolutely no idea what you're talking about jejeje

No businessman likes to lose money, but at the financial level that Rick & Company operate, $500 is pocket change.
