Tamil Nadu Train Accident: NIA Official Visits Site To Investigate Mysuru-Darbhanga Train Collision

A major railway accident occurred on the Chennai-Gudur section on Friday evening when the Mysuru-Darbhanga Express derailed between Ponneri and Kavaraipettai stations. The mishap took place around 8:30 PM, causing at least 12 coaches to go off the tracks.

Initial reports confirm that 19 passengers sustained injuries, though no fatalities have been reported so far. Rescue and relief operations are underway to assist those affected and restore train services in the disrupted section. The cause of the derailment is still under investigation, and railway officials are coordinating efforts to clear the track.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also sent an official to inspect the site, raising concerns about possible sabotage or technical lapses behind the accident.

Same type of accident as it happened in the balasore as per general manager southern railway the signal was showing green for mainline and the train entered the loop line, only difference between balasore coromandel express was at 130 kmph wheras here in this it was at nearly half speed 75 kmph.so hence maybe driver was able to apply emergency brakes due to that only injuries to passengers rather than death
