When you see those newspapers on the ground like that, it basically indicates that rockhounds were down there gathering specimens, probably of the same azurite that you guys grabbed. They just knew to bring newspaper to protect the crystals during transport.😊

I 'dig' the way you guys are sticking together throughout your ventures, very cool watching each learn from the other and both learn from trial and error. The work is intense however it seems both your passions have you winning that fight. Good luck to you both, keep it honest and stay safe.

I've been watching both for a very long time, I just don't comment much.

Cheers for that, time flew by. Also not sure if intended, but no mid roll ads is fantastic. Sat there with my dinner, put it on was able to enjoy it without some jarring loud Ai trying to sell me junk every 10 min. Makes such a difference, and people are more inclined to use the content as a sleep aid.

Lookong forward to seeing the result of the crush! Have a good one!

Azurite cut and polished is beautiful too. That place where you looked over the berm to the ore chute at 43:00 looked like there was a big shiny pile of galena there just like what's in Cerro Gordo that you typically pull out. The really flaky stuff looks like what happens when lava hits water and it builds those layers like that. Man that was nuts, in that long section of tunnel you could see drill holes where they would blast and then 18 inches later they'd blast again, you could see them while you were walking every 18-24 inches for a while there.
The thing about making coins was they were a certain thickness and diameter to hit the weight because back in the day the value of the coin was literally how much the value of the silver or gold use to make it was. (in ancient Rome they actually used lead for coins) Annealing the silver would've made it softer and easier to punch out.
That's about a $2.69 coin.

Jason really exposed the dangers associated with mining. Falling rock, falling hammers, inhaling gobs of mineral dust. Man if I was Brent I would be sampling and assaying all over the place. It seems only the richest and most accessible ore was taken. I would identify the minerals and grades of metals associated so I can locate any rich spots the miners left. I suppose that's what you are doing for him but this is what I would focus on for 5 days a week. Build tables and whatnot on the weekend. What a place to own and explore.

I was screaming when you work hardened that silver then tried stamping it without annealing it and can you please clean your working surfaces? My OCD is going nuts. 😂

Very interesting to see the changes in the mine as you change direction. Gloves are a definite PPE. You two are amazing. Poor rabbit, gave a whole new meaning to heading down the rabbit hole.

42:38, the rusty dark brownish red banded vein structure to the right of the two wood support beams. The redder the better, looks very appealing!
