Mesozoic EraIn this video I would like to talk about the Mesozoic era on the geologic time scale.
The Mesozoic era is part of the Phanerozoic Eon along with the Paleozoic and Cenozoic eras.
Mesozoic means “middle animals” and is a time of rapid change.
This era has also been called the age of reptiles and age of dinosaurs
The Mesozoic era was roughly 65 million years to 250 million years ago.
Let’s hit several highlights of this era
The Mesozoic era began after a mass extinction.
The shape of the continents looked different. At the beginning of this era, there was a super
Continent called Pangea. Over time this supercontinent broke apart and the continents started drifting apart.
The climate was warmer than today
The first mammals appear but are very small and they don’t begin to thrive until the Cenozoic era.
Dinosaurs also appear and begin to scatter and prosper.
The dinosaur population peaks during this era.
However, at the end of this era, the dinosaurs die off
The first birds appear and begin to scatter throughout the world.
The dominant plant is a cone-bearing tree and plants
At the end of this era, flowering plants begin to appear
So there we go the Mesozoic era,
Dinosaurs and cone-bearing plants

Thanks for the helpful feedback. I didn't catch the fact that I misspelled " Pangaea". The correct spelling is " Pangaea and not Pangea"
Sorry

Not too shabby, of course birds appeared in the early Cretaceous not after the end Cretaceous. Not a big mammal expert but mammals of course didn't have the ecological richness of the Cenozoic, but in their own niches (small to medium, mostly if not all nocturnal) they seemed to be abundant and fairly diverse (survived the end Cretaceous after all, even with some groups lost of their own, not to say mammals are inherently better than dinos or anything) Of course marine animals/ etc. modern animals coming about are overlooked compared to dinos, maybe I'll make a video on it but for sure for anyone thinking the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous was nothing but aggressive big dinos and sea monsters fighting everywhere is mistaken

Wait... I thought the contenents didn't drift apart until a meteor hit the Earth. Since we have the same dinosaurs (for example Ankyosaurs) on different contenents.

Geologists can mention any number of years, and they like the millions and billions, because no one knows the real age of a rock layer. Geologists talk about there timescale as being relative but they always present it as an exact value. The whole geological timescale is based on the assumption that it takes a few hundred thousand years to create a layer. Real scientific proof or evidence? Non.
