I watched the full coverage live from 10pm british time (we have only 1 time zone) till 6am on Friday 13th,
right at the outset at EXACTLY 10:00:00pm, the exit polls showed tories 368, labour 191, libdems 13, Brexit party 0, SNP (Scottish nationalists) 55, others 23, for the 650 seat parliament, 326 needed to get a majority.
when I went to bed around 6am, the actual seats then were tories 357, labour 202, libdems 10, SNP 48, others 22

and at 531pm the full 650 were in, with tories (Boris Johnson) 365, labour 203, libdems 11, SNP 48,

so Boris has a HUGE majority of 365-(650-365)= 80

I personally voted tory, but had Theresa been leader, I would have voted Brexit party as she was a timewaster.

There were a lot of major upsets, with libdem leader Jo Swinson who wanted to discard the Brexit result and stay in the EU
losing her seat by a whisker! she got 19523 votes, whereas the SNP candidate got 19672.

Tony Blair's former constituency of Sedgefield went to the tories! HAHA! Blair diametrically opposed Brexit!

veteran leftwinger Dennis Skinner, very popular and frank man, 87 years old, nicknamed the beast of Bolsover, lost to the tories,
he got 16492 votes versus 21791 tory.

various anti Brexit defectors got humiliated, eg tory Gauke who stood as an independent, got 15919 losing to the tory who got 30327, which is a "thumping majority". Chuka Ummuna who was a labour Obama lookalike who defected from Labour to the libdems, lost to the tories,

Sam Gyimah who defected from the tories to the libdems, lost to the tories, and there were people shouting out at him shame! shame! shame! when his result was announced, basically jeering. he got 9312, labour got 16618, the tory got 16768,

as the country voted for Brexit in 2016, it is the duty of parliament to implement Brexit, but a majority of MPs obstructed, in particular over Ireland, when in fact all that is needed for Ireland is a hard border either between the 2 Irelands or between mainland Britain and all of Ireland, NO OTHER OPTION, the latter is what Boris is going for. ie its not a problem,

this electoral drubbing is the wrath of the voters for MPs obstructing a referendum.

The SNP have their own landslide of Scotland, they want to leave the UK and join the EU.
There is a schism between pro EU Scotland and the anti EU rest of the UK.

although the Brexit party got 0 MPs, they in fact decided this election, coz the original Brexit referendum was decided by Cameron to steal the thunder of Nigel Farage's UKIP which was tearing into the tory party. Cameron resigned when Brexit won, and Remain (anti Brexit) Theresa May became leader and she eventually held a general election in 2017, but failed to get a majority, so had to form a coalition with the northern irish DUP party, headed by Arlene Foster. Theresa said although she was Remain, because the country had voted Brexit, she would deliver Brexit, VERY WISE. But she was all empty promises and no action, and in May 2019, polling showed that the newly formed Brexit Party of Nigel Farage would take the entire country by storm, and Theresa announced some days before the EU election she would resign in June. Some days later the Brexit party were top in virtually all of England and Wales, and the SNP top in virtually all of Scotland, the tories were top NOWHERE, and labour and libdems had a few tiny blobs of the map. Farage's Brexit party BECAME THE BIGGEST PARTY IN THE EU and turned their back on the EU anthem! HAHA!

The tories are very pragmatic and wont tolerate electoral humiliation so they forced Theresa out. Had Theresa remained, the Brexit party would have had a landslide and Nigel Farage would be PM. But they selected Boris Johnson with an overt Brexit agenda, he wanted Brexit by 31st Oct. But the MPs of all parties obstructed, Boris expelled all tories who opposed Brexit, including some big names like Hammond. He even got the queen to intervene, but this was halted by court action. Boris even in a few weeks got a deal negotiated with Brussels, but the MPs obstructed this, so he called a general election for 12th Dec.

labour leader Jeremy Corbyn had a dilemma, that he wants Brexit, but his MPs want Remain, and his own constituency wants Remain, so he sat on the fence and said if PM, he would have another referendum. But the problem is most his MPs would obstruct Brexit, and the impasse would go on forever. British people are pragmatic, and a lot of Remain voters want Brexit because that was what was voted for, hence the startling landslide for Boris.

Nigel Farage decided to not stand any candidate in any constituency the tories won in 2017, to avoid dividing the Brexit vote.
In fact what happened was he prevented the tories winning an even bigger landslide, because in many seats won by Labour,
Tory + Brexit > Labour > Tory > Brexit. But its important to understand that Farage catalysed the entirety, despite getting no MPs!
Its a paradox, but essentially Cameron and Boris stole his thunder.

Boris himself got 25351, with an iranian labour candidate getting 18141!

a lot of americans oppose Brexit, they think europe unifying is a good idea, ok, then how about the US, Canada, Mexico, central america, south america unifying? free movement between countries, common currency. you wont be so keen. more countries speak spanish, so the spanish countries will set the agenda and strait jacket the US.

the devil is in the details. For instance, at the helm of the EU are Merkel, Tusk and Juncker, eg Juncker at whim wants tariffs on iconic US goods eg Harley Davidsons, but NONE OF THESE CHARACTERS WERE EVER ON THE BALLOT CARD IN THE UK.

They got in via the side door, an example of the total subversion of democracy of the EU. eg Juncker is from Luxembourg, population A MERE 602000. Whereas Britain's population is 100x as big! Britain saved the dutch and french from german tyranny, but no gratitude.

until WW2, Britain was the most powerful country in the world, more powerful than the US, more powerful than Germany,
but with the EU, the country has been severed from its base, the former empire, the commonwealth, BIGGER than the EU and the US.

With the EU, all 28 countries are regarded as equal, FIRSTLY this is unfair, Britain and Germany are giants, with France, Holland, Italy in the second tier, the others are midgets hoping to hitch a free ride on a giant cannibal. SECONDLY the francophone countries outnumber the others, with France, Belgium, Luxembourg all french, whereas anglophone countries are just the UK and Ireland. The french countries DESPISE and ENVY the way english has eclipsed french. So they successfully spit and scratch at the UK.

the core EU project is the euro, by rejecting the euro, the UK is permanently sidelined. And the euro has bankrupted most of its countries, eg Greece + Italy beyond bankrupt, ruined, begging to leave the euro and refused by unelected Germany.
Portugal, Spain, Ireland, France all verging on bankrupt, with major riots in France against Macron eg:

Merkel, Macron, Tusk etc saying the UK in peril to leave IS A BIG BLUFF, in fact it is the EU in peril, Italy bankrupt, France riots at Arc de Triomphe, Germany starting to contract. The UK can reconnect with the anglophone world, the former empire eg in africa and asia and the settlement colonies eg the US + Canada and prison colony Australia, also South Africa, unified by language.

A major problem of the EU, is ALL COUNTRIES are marginalised, eg the UK is some 10% of the EU. The US is quite different in that you all speak the same language, where from the UK I can talk directly in a way I couldnt in any EU country other than Ireland. The US has one currency, and each party stands in all states on the same agenda. In the UK all our parties are ENTIRELY UK only. The EU is a structurally flawed project, where they have unified in the wrong sequence which is bankrupting all the countries. They unified the currency, without unifying language or politics. In fact you must first unify language, then politics, ONLY THEN unify currency and have free movement of people. Otherwise you get a short circuit effect of money and people, eg where money flows entirely from Italy to Germany, sliding Italy ever further into the abyss of debt, and everyone migrates to England, because it is light years ahead of the rest of europe in terms of fairness and opportunity.

on paper it sounds good, countries all holding hands, but in practise its a collision course, in Britain our politicians and financiers are far more capable than ANY EU country. We dont need Merkel, Tusk and Juncker to nanny us with their foolish ideas. It is we who should be nannying the EU. At the top of the euro is Mario Draghi, who apparently worked for the department of Goldman Sachs which got Greece into the eurozone via the side door of creative accounting.

if anything, we got out a bit too late, but we got out and now can laugh long and loud at the deluded and misguided self congratulatory cult.

I have visited Germany many times over the decades, from the cold war, to unification, I was in Germany the day the euro began,
and witnessed how they switched from the deutschmark to the euro, I also saw how the country of wealth and order has been brought to its knees by Merkel with increasing austerity.

one other thing, Labour is regarded as socially progressive, but all their leaders have been white males, whereas the tories have produced 2 WOMEN LEADERS, Thatcher + May, Thatcher made all public facilities accessible to wheelchairs, eg trains, cinemas, malls, etc and the tories were the first to push for ethnic minority candidates.

Whereas Labour viciously cut money from disabled people. Labour TALK equality, tories WALK equality.

Will be interesting to see the exit polls ... Such polls indicated the vote was against trump in 2016, and against Australia's morrison earlier this year ....
