Moon Race 2.0: Who's Winning?

NASA has plans to send a crewed mission to the lunar surface in 2026. But difficulties and delays with the Artemis project put that mission at risk. Meanwhile, China is advancing its own crewed lunar landing program, and in the background private entrepreneurs are hatching their own schemes. In this new space race to return to the Moon, who will get there first?

The next phase will be a permanent moon base : the base would have to be at least 3m, 10 ft, below the surface to protect against solar radiation. The question is not who will make a fleeting visit, but who will make a permanent base.
