I have 3 PS3s in my living room right now (one is dying and I’m backing up the content to another) and my most recent purchase on PSN for the system was right before 2024 started. There are so many games that Sony has never brought to PS4 or PS5 that were great on PS3, especially on the Japanese PSN store, including many classics from PS1, PS2, PC Engine, etc. It has been one of the best places to legally buy many games that are obscenely expensive to buy on the used market. For instance, Einhänder for PS1: 346 USD on eBay or under 10 USD on the Japanese PSN store.

still got my ps1 and 2, the ps3 is still hooked up to a tv in my living room . i havent turned it on in months but when i want it, it is there .

I play and use my ps3 for movies all the time. I have a pc and ps5 but the ps3 holds that special place in my heart

I just recently upgraded the storage to SSD and did a thermal paste/pads change on my ps3, and it's running like it's 2008. PS3 is one of the best systems ever. Been playing metal gear solid (form the legacy collection) and downloading a ton of themes. It's great to see the PS3 alive!

Honestly I'm glad they continue to update the console for the bluray drive. Keeps it useful and helps me avoid buying a dedicated bluray player when I can do both

Still free online, plays Blu-ray’s, has some of the best games of the generation, and some amazing ps1 games for cheap. I love the support.

The PS3 is the console I play most these days, this update actually delayed my guitar hero 3 session with the new Riffmaster guitar.

Till these days, our home console is ps3 slim from the 2019 and we always playing Gta V on it XD

Its an update for the blu ray reader, which is great
