Bonus unpopular opinion: We need to stop demonizing shrinkage. Shrinkage is a sign your hair is healthy. My hair is to my shoulders when stretched and eye level dry. And I’m cool with it. Like I even use shrinkage as a FLEX to ppl who don’t know our hair. My white fiancé is floored everytime I remind him how long my hair is. And he gets so giddy when the curl bounces back. Shrinkage is fcking awesome when you realize why we have it. I remember how damaged and sad my hair was before I cut it. When I think about that damage, I smile at my shrunken healthy curls. Cuz they are healthy and happy for the first time in my 25 years of living. And I’m healthy and happy for the first time in 25 years. We are too mean to our hair ❤️

I am currently in my first year of college at 23 y/o. Since I did not start college fresh out of high school like most, I do not know a single person and have no friends. Definitely agree that people, basically anyone with a large platform don’t have to speak out about everything. I also reallyyy don’t like when so many people try to pressure them to make a hard stance and publicly choose “what side” they’re on. The harassment so many famous people get whenever anything political happens rubs me the wrong way. “You have a large following so it’s your duty to make a stance. Why aren’t you speaking up?” They get bombarded, pressured, and even bullied into speaking out and choosing a side. And no matter what side they choose people will criticize them for being on the “wrong side”. Damned if they do and damned if they don’t.
