In my opinion I loved Rory and Logan together so when she said no to getting married I was so upset, especially for her to go back to him in a year in a life when he is engaged to someone else.

No the amount of people who dislike lorelai but love Rory….I think they must be nuts. Neither of them are perfect but lorelai is better

Dean's character was assassinated after season 1 to make Jess seem like an appealing prospect. Original Dean from Chicago who reads books Rory hasn't and has the knowledge and skill to rebuild a car will always be my favorite. Done with both Rory and Dean completely after Raincoats and Recipes.

lorelai is literally a hero to me. the amount of crap she takes while maintaining her composure and showing compassion to her parents where they show her none is remarkable, and i can only hope to be like that myself someday.

The thing with Emily and Richard is they're bad parents who consistently gang up on their daughter and make her feel bad, but they are really, really good grandparents. They're complex characters and it's hard to feel either positive or negative about them at any given time, it depends on how they are in that moment.

I can never fully hate Emily or Richard; they’re just such good, complex characters. The most I hated Emily was when she split up Lorelai and Luke cuz that was AWFUL. The only time I wasn’t fond of Richard was when he made Rory do an impromptu Yale interview, yet I still didn’t hate him then. Either way, I love them so much

I stand by my theory of Jess is the BEST option for Rory. Yes he was a bad boy at first, but he never stopped chasing his dreams. And he had such a level head. When he says to Rory after the kiss at Sookie’s(?) wedding about how he felt hurt because she was happy to see him, kissed him, then said don’t tell anyone, how did she think that made him feel? Like that entire monologue made me respect him. He didn’t care what people thought of him. Even when Lorelai admitted she did not like him nor even approve of him, he was like “Okay, well your daughter is her own person to make her own choices and I’m not changing into a different person for your approval.” Like he just was so sane and level-headed and truly wanted the best for Rory even if it meant breaking his own heart.

That one episode where lindsay makes dean dinner, and looks so excited… god i felt so awful for her! She deserved better 💔

The older I get the more I actually like and understand Lorelei. When I was younger I thought she was just the best mom and as I get older I see her flaws, immaturity, etc. love her more for it

Lorelei is easily one of my favorite t.v. characters ever. She’s so complex and I just relate to her fast talking, wittiness.
The older I’ve gotten the more I understand Emily and sometimes Richard. Ofc they had their horrible moments but they are so amazingly complex and Emily and Lorelei are a lot alike. Especially Emily’s character arc in the revival? *Chef’s Kiss*

Dean was always very supportive of Rory and loved her so much he never should’ve married Lindsay he wasn’t over her and Lindsay got screwed over

Dean was actually not too bad before Jess happened.
Guys hear me out, I'm not saying he was perfect, but neither was Rory. He only got mad at her when he thought she didn't want to be with him. It's kinda justifiable. And yes, he was too needy for her, but his intentions were good and season 1 Dean was better than Jess in my opinion. Also him being boring doesn't mean he was bad. However, in the later seasons Dean was 100% trash.

Anytime the grandparents are involved is just so emotional and beautiful and watching their relationship growing through the series is so touching 😢❤
The respect Emily grew through lorelai when she saw her doing all the pc work by herself… being an independent and successful worker after she told her she broke up with Christopher. Emily also told her it wasn’t a big deal for her, she could do it by herself and maybe she will eventually marry someone. Was so touching … and people just don’t care much about that part.

I feel like those of us who got into this show as adults have a different perspective than those who watched it as kids. And while I can understand why some people wouldn’t like Lorelei, I imagine most of them wouldn’t like the show. It confuses me when people who claim to like the show detest her since she’s one of the two main characters.
