My Sony TV will output IMAX Enhanced sound from enabled movies on the Bravia Core App but NOT from enabled movies on Disney+.

I'm sick and tired of the inconsistencies with sound on Disney +...sometimes I have atmos, sometimes I don't, so now they're trying this...I won't hold my breath for success...

Agree the whole thing is quite ridiculous. Promised for 2 years and then just about no one can actually utilize it. That being said there is nothing inherently better about lossy DTS:X vs lossy (DD+) Atmos. It will just come down to what bitrates are used and probably more importantly mixing differences. I could imagine the DTS:X tracks being mixed louder and with more emphasis on the low end to make it seem better but in the end it’s more about marketing than any true difference in capability between the 2 formats.

My god! Technology in ‘24. I have a Denon x3800h with imax enhanced. But I use a LG C2. I checked my Apple TV and Shield Pro. Both apps does say IMAX enhanced for video. But Atmos for sound 🤦🏾‍♂️ It might be that the build in app in webOS on the C4 or G4 from LG can do it, since these TVs support dts directly from the TV.

Like your video, very clear 💪🏾

Hello David, the shield tv pro can do dts x pass through via HDMI.
