What's the point when most studios don't release the IMAX versions on blu-ray? Take Avengers Endgame for example. The whole movie was shot on IMAX camera's and yet the home version doesn't come with the IMAX aspect ratio.

The only way we'd get even a roughly 100:1 sample of the IMAX experience is if you have a 60 inch TV with 4K capability and a 4K player. It would also help that it was shot in IMAX or, at least, 8K RED. Most movies, after they've been shot in anything higher than 4K, if there's any special effects, those shots usually get rendered at a lower quality.

I hope we can get the IMAX version of the Force Awakens in this. Regardless of anyone’s thoughts about the film, I’m only this because the film did had a sequence that was shot on IMAX 70mm film and that was the whole Jakku escape scene.

I got this 98 Inch TCL XL QLED (c735) and iMax Enhanced feature really does the justice with cinematic experience regarding sound and picture quality

If IMAX thinks the "IMAX experience" can be shrunk down to fit in your living room (or god forbid a future imax-enhanced smartphone), then they're giving up their position as the only reason some people still pay admission at theaters. It's a shame.

Funny enough that Roger Deakins for example said in his own forum, that the 2.40:1 aspect ratio version was indeed the "way 1917 and blade runner were intended" and that he did not like the IMax as much.
