It's incredible what Valve has made for gaming on linux. They pushed it at least 10 years into the future. Long live Valve!

I switched to Linux from Windows. Spent more than 2 days trying to fix issues. Mostly was after a reboot Linux wouldn't load it would go to a command console permanently. So I reinstalled a lot and tried so many different Distributions. Finally, I found a stable one and learned a lot. Been playing games and immediately noticed that everything is faster and smoother ESPECIALLY Emulators! Although a full swap from Windows to Linux is not for the faint of heart. Somethings are still not available on Linux like trainers unless you find workarounds and even then you have to hope it works for your chosen OS and Kernel .V.

Loving my experience so far.

Some games like God of War would crash on Windows but run flawlessly on Linux so FPS doesn't tell the whole story. The crash is due to Memory leak which doesn't exist on the Linux version.

Kinda insane Linux having better performance than Windows. Thanks to Valve, we are a few steps closer to been able to play every game in Linux.

I see that some of the Linux benchmarks use VKD3D, which is a layer that translates Direct3D commands to Vulkan commands. Imagine how fast the games would run if they just supported Vulkan natively

Just got the plasma 6 and kernel 6.9 on manjaro finnally. Games are butter smooth even with X11.

Man it's crazy how much performance is gained in some games. Those extra 10 frames can make a difference between a stable 60 fps and a 50-60 FPS experience. Absolutely incredible what the Linux community has accomplished in the gaming sphere in such a short time. Windows being on top in 1 of 4 titles isn't what you would expect for the biggest platform. Sure it's not built for gaming, but that shows the versatility of linux. Being able to get a gaming dedicated distro allows for more specific options and optimizations.

Valve needs to go ahead and release a full desktop version of SteamOS and I'm pretty sure they'll kill Windows on the gaming side. Steam Deck's experience so ridiculously smooth compared to PC gaming's current hassles.

It's pretty consistent seeing the fps higher on Linux and it still confuses me. I guess all the bloat Windows shoves at the hardware makes it worse but of course that's just a guess

So confused by the red dead testing. From what I saw mostly, windows had a higher frame rate, yet linux had the higher avg?

Maybe expected, but D3D11 titles are still generally faster on Windows by the usual 5..10%; Vulkan shines on Linux, while VKD3D is a nice suprise to me :)
