Zero mention of what's happening in Lahaina.

I think they never should have closed off tourism after the fires, other than in Lahaina. Those businesses outside of Lahaina don't need to suffer from closure and lack of tourism. They need the business, and the tax revenues that will trickle back to Lahaina to rebuild.

Too many hotels. Too many condos. Too many cars. Too many tourists.

Went to Maui on the 8th and stayed for 10 days visiting friends and fam. Spend at local merchants. Tip generously. Respect the sensitivity. Don't let this be a distraction to holding the failed leaders accountable.

I think they should have left it closed like the people wanted. Let them find out what it's like when nobody can pay their bills because they are all unemployed.

"Woe to those who devise iniquity,
And work out evil on their beds!
At morning light they practice it,
Because it is in the power of their hand.
They covet fields and take them by violence,
Also houses, and seize them.
So they oppress a man and his house,
A man and his inheritance.
Therefore thus says the LORD:
“Behold, against this family I am devising disaster,
From which you cannot remove your necks;
Nor shall you walk haughtily,
For this is an evil time.
Tn that day one shall take up a proverb against you,
And lament with a bitter lamentation, saying:
‘We are utterly destroyed!
He has changed the heritage of my people;
How He has removed it from me!
To a turncoat He has divided our fields." Micah 2:1-4

Maui government has committed the same sins as ancient Israel did under the prophet Micah.
Much of Micah’s indictment against Israel and Judah involves these nations’ injustice toward the lowly—unjust business dealings, robbery, mistreatment of women and children, and a government that lived in luxury off the hard work of its nation’s people.

I thought they covered that area of the island with a toxic glue? Why would you want to be exposed to that as a tourist? Yikes!.

Lack of coordination and resources isn't the same as conspiracy. It isn't easy to do everything perfect in an unexpected tragedy, with chaos and miscommunication, hampered by power failures, etc. Easy to point fingers. Besides, some of those residents in the fires were probably friends or relatives of the public officials who supposedly 'conspired' against them. That makes no sense.

Great For business but not great tor workers who are still very unstable, who lack childcare, and senior daycare and safe schools that are inot safe due to the close proximity to high toxicity from burn area full of toxic ASH, and Poisonous fumes that seep and Fly into Air and Land!
