Official video for Choirboys’ “Run To Paradise” from the album Big Bad Noise!

| LYRICS |
Baby, you were always gonna be the one
You only ever did it just for fun
But you run to paradise
Jenny, I'll meet you at the grocery store
You don't need a friend when you can score
You run to paradise
Johnny
We were always best of friends
Stick together and defend
But you run to paradise
And Mamma, now don't you worry 'bout me anymore
And I see you crying at the door
When I run to paradise
That's right, they had it all worked out
You were young and blonde and you could never do wrong
That's right, they were so surprised
You opened their eyes up
(Opened their eyes up)
Opened their eyes up
You don't want anyone (You don't, you don't, open your eyes up)
You don't want anyone (You don't, your no fool)
Don't tell me, this is paradise (Open your eyes up)
You don't want anyone (You don't, open your eyes up)
You don't want anyone (You don't, your no fool)
Don't tell me, this is paradise
Good times, why'd I let them slip away
Why'd I let them slip away
'Cause I lived in paradise
Run to paradise
Run to paradise
Run to paradise
Jesus say's it's gonna be alright
He's gonna pat my back so I can walk in the light
(That's right!)
You don't mind if I abuse myself
So I can hold my head up (Hold my head up)
Hold my head up
You don't want anyone (You don't, hold your head up)
You don't want anyone (You don't, your no fool)
Don't tell me, this is paradise (Open your eyes up)
You don't need anyone
You don't need anyone (You don't)
You'll tell me, this is paradise
You don't want anyone (You don't, hold your head up)
You don't want anyone (You don't, your no fool)
You'll tell me, this is paradise (Open your eyes up)
You don't need anyone
You don't want anyone, (You don't)
You'll tell me, this is paradise

Great pub song. Reminds me of North Queensland times. Best time of my life.

I grew up in Australia in the early 80's. Too young to understand what an epic time it was.

One of the great aussie classics. R.I.P. to our wonderful friend, and drummer extraordinaire, Lindsay Tebbutt.

I visited Australia in 2008 as part of a student group and this was the song our bus driver played every time we went anywhere. Memory lane every time I listen to it.

Aussie 80s music the best!! 'Come Said The Boy', 'The Way You Walk(You know you're really attractive)', 'Great Southern Land', 'Fine Line Between Pleasure and Pain'...the list goes on! I get emotional when I think back to the 80s.

It is Aussie classic. How on earth did it slip under the radar internationally

mid 70s and early 80s in Sydney were my time of live Aussie rock and roll bands.
Although Choirboys played once or twice where i went I hardly noticed them.
Then i became a Mum and had no time for rock, preferring to learn some older genres.
I remember what I was doing in 87 while hearing this on the radio then a few years later I left Australia to live overseas and forgot this song.
The other day I must have heard it on a Spotify playlist and next day it rang through my head all day and I couldn't remember who the band was but thought it was a USA band then i found this and i love it
What a fantastic band they were and i believe still are
