I had the pleasure of being in the support band for these guys in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast. The drummer gave our drummer a lesson while we were all doing sound checks. he got him to do a basic rock beat, then he said, "make it simpler". So he halved the hi-hats, then he said "Simpler", so he halved the kick. then he said, "There, now that's how you play Rock."....hahahaha. True story. My band was called "The Grasshoppers".

I feel like the saying this song takes its name from has been a bit bastardized in the modern day. I've always understood it to mean 'Boys will be Boisterous', not harmful in any way. People think it's used to excuse bad behavior, no. It's just celebrating boys being full of life, noise, and energy. It makes me wish this song was more widely known. It's a positive and relatable message, and come on, we've all had those moments that make us grin when we see boys just acting like boys.
