Fixing Lagoon: What I'd Do To Save My Home Park

Basically for this video, I talked about what I would do to fix my home amusement park, Lagoon. Located in Farmington Utah, Lagoon has 10 coasters, including the legendary Canniball, and soon 11 as Primordial opens soon.

I get what you're saying, but most of the parks mentioned are open year round or close to year round. Lagoon is really only opened full time for 2 and a half months! They need to make the majority of their money in that time and on weekends during frightmares. I think when they Cloe great america In Santa Clara Lagoon should buy rail blazer put it where the log ride used to be and rename it trai blazer because of the parks theme in that area.

I agree a big coaster that went over the top of walk ways would be absolutely amazing! I would love to see a Hybrid coaster or an x2 type ride built as this park. Primordial is now open, and it's a good ride, but not a great ride, it's definitely another family coaster. They tend to have lots of family friendly rides, since everyone in utah has 18 kids.

My home park as well! I would love to see a RMC Single rail and I agree a hyper like diamond back would be amazing. Also a fast pass like the Cedar Fair parks I feel would help and also increase revenue of they would lower admission prices.

Lagoon is my home park as well, and while I understand some of your points, but I would have to respectfully disagree with most of them. The park is definitely not perfect, but The park is far from a mess, and compared to many other parks across the nation, is run very well in my opinion. Yes its unreasonably expensive, but im of the opinion that is mostly worth it. It has one of the highest roller coaster and Flat ride lineups this side of the US, plus mostly everything in the park is very high quality, like the shows, amount of rides, theming, etc. And about the zoo, the cages may be small, but I know for a hundred percent certainty first hand those animals are well cared for. Though I do agree that something much better could go in its place. And lastly, pioneer village is an awesome area of the park imo, I would hate to see it go. Its something that makes lagoon unqiue, plus its a nice quiet area on busy summer days. Every park has a good wild west area, but lagoons is special becuse of it being so interactive. Im intrested to hear your thoughts on Primordial now that its open lol.

I said this a year or two ago but i did predict two places where to put this hyper/giga coaster 1. Is where you said except, I want it wrapped around lagoon's lake. 2. PUT IT NORTH OF CANNIBAL (even know there is rumors of putting in a second parking lot there).

Id move Lagoon a Beach over by Primordial in that open space there. It'd make a huge space for an even better water park and free up that space in the middle of the park for expansion.

I think lagoon needs to get rid of lagoon-a-beach all together. That is prime area to do something cool with. But if they need a water park move it to the north end of the park in the employee parking storage and old horce racetrack used to be.
I say keep pioneer village its part of the charm of the park. For me i can give or take the campground ive never stayed there but i can see how it can be fun. I honestly think that lagoon needs a modern hybrid coaster RMC is just up the road and can do something cool. I also think that daily admission prices need ti come down bounceback needs to come back. And if they need to do that at the expense of the season pass holders so be it. Lagoon is my home park but i am not a season pass holder as i live 3 hours away and only go once or twice a season.

As much as I could start about this... as soon as you 'have a job'. Own a park or don't live with your parents... A business that has survived as long as Lagoon is rare.

nah, screw the hyper, the have enough room for a Giga, so a giga, a terrain, and maybe an alpine if they wanted to do that would be great

I think Lagoon needs 3 levels of higher-priced season passes with various blackout times and possibly even excluding Lagoon-a-Beach. Tier pricing should also come to daily passports, higher on weekends and holidays, lower on low volume days. The queues need to be better.

Unfortunately, your plans have a couple of flaws. Farmington’s noise ordinances for one. No rides making noise or with screaming passengers can be build in the Pioneer Village area. There’s a reason Rattlesnake rapids runs in basically canyons to block the noise. Lagoon riders lose a lot of devices and items on rides, anything over a midway would be a lawsuit waiting to happen for them. I worked school days not long ago and on roller coaster alone, there were 30 items lost in the field in just a single day.

Sounds like it's worse than Silverwood out in Idaho. These family or private owned Amusement parks should be taken over by people who care or by Cedar Fair or Six Flags etc. And now that the new coaster is open who knows what's next.

I think it is funny that you spend so much time beating up lagoon for the fact that primordial wasn't open but you don't recognize that log flume got shut down last year and has already been torn out.

As for your other statements. I agree that lagoon has a line management problem. It also has a queuing problem. Most of it seems to be due to the way they build the rides in "temporary" locations and the flat ride lineup. Examples of the temporary locations are music express, Jet Star 2, tilt a whirl. Along with the lack of willingness to update ride styles to increase capacity (paratroopers).

The biggest thing I'm concerned with at lagoon is the lack of updating rides when thing break. I.e. air racer has had 2 carts down all year, Jet Star is still sitting on wood planks that shift, the lighting issues with the ferris wheel, cliffhanger and its downtime, ex.

That being said, this is my home park and I do love it. We get season passes every year and we go 30+ times a season. We will also continue to do so for the foreseeable future. But there really are some things lagoon needs to do and step up on to keep growth a possibility.

This was a little bit too negative of a video for me. I do agree with moving the animals to somewhere else where they will get the proper care they need but I disagree with your other opinions. We don’t need a giga coaster. It would look stupid. Also, Primordial opens this weekend.
