We'll see how Nvidia works this out... at the end of the day, this problem is kind of a flex.

A 12GB 5050M, 16GB RTX 5060, 18GB 5070, and 24GB 5080 is exactly what gamers and professionals need right now. Of course, Nvidia will likely not do it.

Nvidia is now nothing but a meme for corporate greed.

I like naming of Nvidia cards rn. RTX 5080 16 GB, RTX 5080 12GB, RTX 5080 8GB and RTX 5080 6GB sounds cool!

If you had $10k in Nvidia stock in 2016 then you'd have around $2M today.

Haha it's same for ALL MIDDLE MANAGERS in big corporations... When I was in HR in a +30.000 employee company, they sometimes would skip their bonus rewards for a whole year to save money, while still paying middle managers bonus checks (I was part of the paper-work bonus payout process), and not only that, but the people who did all the hard work on the bottom, had ridiculously low paychecks compared their colleagues next door sitting with e.g. the IT SAP systems, they basically just adding and changing numbers and letters in a system, no paper, no long formulas or workflows to follow, just really simple work, and they would be paid 50% more in salary. When they skipped the bonus reward system for a whole year, the middle managers would still get their bonus paycheck that as a minimum would be 240% of my monthly salary, and sometimes as high as 400% of my monthly salary, as a bonus for their "hard work".

FIRE = Financial Independence, Retire Early, a FAT FIRE is just that but more luxurious.

Nvidia should be broken up like AT&T can spin off the gaming, enterprise, networking, etc all off into separate companies....it would be OBJECTIVELY better for consumers

I've heard it said, if everyone were a billionaire nobody would work.

I mean i don't blame the nvidia employees if you just turned 30 and have 5 million USD in shares that you can offload and retire when you are 30 years old.. why would you not do that.

You can buy a nice house that is pretty low maintenance, and nice Tesla, and still have 4 million in the bank to live off. If you invest that wisely. you can pretty much live on ~100k per year without any debts, and have no bosses or customers to deal with..

Not having a boss or customer = zero stress and having no money troubles makes your life stress free (If you have no partner or kids then the world is your oyster to enjoy. You can jump on plane anytime and travel anywhere). Not many people get such a chance at life you will be in top 10% of the world. Id say that's already an achievement if life was a game those people clocked it already.

FIRE is the early retirement thingy. Fat fire just mean retire early and spend lavishly. Compared to barista fire which is retire, but work part time as a barista to sustain extra expenses.

I feel like high profile tech CEOs try to fit into a narrative that they should be hard to work for because being extraordinary and shaping the world shouldn't be easy, blah blah blah. Here's a novel idea. Try being a joy to be around while staying motivated to achieve your goals. People around you might become motivated as well. Choose love.

Have these same new employees work in a 12+ hours a day hard labor factory job, then they will see they had it easy made working at Nvidia.

History has shown that when this happens, a company just loses its dead weight anyways. Usually the people that brought success and innovation do it because they actually like what they do, so paying them more won’t affect their retirement status.
What you are saying is teaching companies to starve their employees into complacency, and that works opposite to advantage. Seems that Nvidia just needs to hire people who enjoy doing the direction the company has taken
