Collaborate LIVE in the Excel Sheet View

Have you ever collaborated with someone else in an Excel worksheet, looking at a large data set, and suddenly lost your view because they sorted or filtered? It's very aggravating.

Sheet views are an innovative way of letting you create customized views in an Excel worksheet so you can work on data without bothering other collaborators. You can filter data, and it will not change what other collaborators are viewing or editing. This applies to when you sort data also. Any cell-level edits you make will automatically be saved with the workbook regardless of which view you're in.

Sheet View works in Excel for the web but is coming to Excel's desktop version, where most users work.

How do I turn on Sheet View?
1) If other people are working on the file, you can sort or filter, and we’ll ask if you want to apply that sort or filter for just you, or everyone. Then you’ll be in a sheet view.
2) If you want to create a sheet view before other people start working in the file, you can go to the View tab, and click New.

Quick question, 🙋‍♀️ you mention frustrated, and boy am I at seeing every single time someone is in my sheet. I created a view, and my question really is, has this info changed any in four years? I saw another video that mentioned a bug or two that Microsoft needed to work out, something about saving a master sheet?

How do I prevent multiple collaborators editing each other's entries. In other words, I want my students to provide certain information in the same sheet, but I don't want to allow anyone edit another's text. Is there a way to do this?

Does it supossed to work as well when hiding and unhiding columns? I tried but whenever I hide columns, the other collaborators are affected.

Hi, can we disable the option see everyone's by just keeping just see mine option, while multiple users are accessing the excel.

Hi. When you exited sheet view in the web version on the right, it retained the sort that you'd applied on the left pane even though that was applied in a temporary sheet view, not the default view? Your temporary sort should not have affected the default view?
