I got rid of my 1200 sportster and bought a scout, I never look back, the scout is faster, handles better, brakes better, smoother and the fit and finish are every bit as good!! personally, I don't give a damn who owns them!! The sporty had its day, if you went and bought a new one today, you still bought a 20yr old bike and it is beginning to look and feel like it.

Awesome bikes. I love both Indian and Harleys. Two of the first American made motorcycles, Indian in 1901 and Harley in 1903 ( from my understanding ) truth is both bikes have what the other lacks, but still, both bikes are great. I had ridden both, enjoyed them and ended up becoming a Scout owner. Reason for that, is due to seeing too many Harleys and not so many Indians, and I personally wanted something that you don't see too often. I also get lots of compliments from long term Harley riders as well.

Can’t beat the sound of a Harley-Davidson

Harley sounds like a Harley. Indian sounds like any Japanese cruiser. And a Harley is a Harley.

Freedom Performance Eagle slip ons, if you like it loud. That's what you'll want. They are throaty and ground shaking. And for more power to that Scout, simply combine those slip-ons with an S&S air intake and a tune. That Indian will be a mean machine.

I have ridden the Indian scout and a Softail. The fit & finish was better on the Harley, so was the comfort & acceleration. The Indian felt a little more nimble, but after an hour of riding, my hips were hurting, could just be my body shape though. I would see the Scout more as a competitor to members the Sportster line up with the 1200 engine. Indian's competitors to the Softail lineup are a more expensive than the Harleys, here in the UK at-least.

LOL! Harley is just hanging on while Indian sales are booming. I understand brand loyalty but Indian bikes are vastly superior! Read the reviews! Indian is a fabulous product! And, made in MN!

Shame about the radiator, the alloy frame, one has smooth lines and one doesn't.

You never even crossed 5k on the scout, you ride it like a harley, low rpm, and low speed.

Put a.set of kuruakyn crushers, a S&S intake and Dyno jet power vision on that scout and it sounds like a race bike and performs like one too. Your also correct its owned by Polaris. They purchased the name and swiss auto engineering. Then made designed there bikes to look like the 1928 scout and 1946 chief. But with 21st century technology.

How about comparing the two bikes 0 to 100 KPH or 0 to 60 MPH. ALL of these You Tube videos where some boffer Velcro's an Action Camera on his helmet and/or bars then proceeds to make us all seasick as we are forced to listen to Vrooming and Putt-Putting via amateur microphone is more than a bit off-putting...subtitled: Why I Gave Up On The Missenden Flyer and watch/listen to Harley Homer, Matt Laidlaw, and Lemmy on Revzilla. Also, you do not appear to be using CounterSteering in turns and to change direction.

Nothing compares to Harley. The Indian is not even in reach

What is the point? Just taking turns passing each other? Not being nasty, just asking

Indian looks far better than the Harley. Far rarer too.
