im worried my puppy is not busy enough.. he is so chill.
its also amazing how little information is needed for the puppy to judge a situation. I feel like the excited voice of the trainer as he spoke to the camera made him more excited

Steve kept his cool! This dog is high octane. I’ve got an 8 week old Aussie and this is EXACTLY what I needed. It’s very reassuring to know that dogs learn in 1 second, and that we don’t need to be aggressive or loud in order to get the point across; the house line is indeed a beautiful tool!

Thanks for making this video. Now I know my puppy is normal 😂
I always thought I taught her in a wrong way that she likes to biting, chewing, jumping and even tug on my pants! I’m so reassured now 🥰

I'm so glad to see that my puppy is not the only puppy doing this lol although I knew that already, it's great to see it ! The biting the leash, jumping on me, biting my hands, and my pants legs. It's great to see this and thank you for the suggestion. I have an 11 week old maltipoo and I'm definitely going to try this, using the line to stop the things I don't like and refocusing on something I do. I'm hoping for a great outcome lol fingers crossed🤞🏽 wish me luck

That house line is absolutely a game changer! I have a 10week old standard poodle, and the line helps so much.

I always call this puppy line at home our umbilical cord. In German it's a little shorter though. 😊
I've been doing this from my second puppy onwards. Then I had a couple of small children and had to figure out how to supervise kids and puppy to keep all of them safe.

2:31 you know you can just cut the loop open for the same effect without losing the inch or two of leash you cut off not to mention now you don't have to throw the bit of leash away. just thinking out loud

I just got an 11 week old Labradoodle and I’ve been doing my best but I’ve definitely got discouraged over the last week at times. This video really helped reinforce that I’m not a crazy person and it just takes a lot of work lol. Thanks for the confidence boost!

From Australia. Great vid, Steve. Awesome to actually watch you calm and redirect a hypo puppy. I can relate because I've just got my own Aussie Sheperd 👍

Perfect video. Im so happy to see someone using a puppy with similar behavior as mine. I have a young Rottweiler who is extremely stubborn. I’ll definitely be implementing some of these practices

Thanks for this video. I have been watching your training videos for much of the past year and finally got my 8 week old standard Labradoodle a month ago. She has never NOT had a house line on thanks to you guys. But now that she is just over 3 months old and has doubled her weight, she is so strong. When I let her out of her ex pen or crate to start integrating her into the house more, she just pulls and wants to check everything out. We have gone thru some of the house repeatedly so it's not new territory. She will soon be too large for the ex pen to contain her and I need to get her more calm when out of it, but it is not working. She gets a lot of good exercise in the yard twice a day and often a little more on a 3rd occasion and many potty outings. Also lots of training and knew many things within several days of coming home. She has an excellent sit/wait at the back door, for meals and to come out of crate and pen. But that self control goes out the window when out in some of the house. I just need her to slow down. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I have 10 week old Aussie that is that high energy we call him psycho dog - that house line has made all the difference - he has learned sit & down and easily learned no jumping and biting because we have so much more control. I have been able lead him quickly outside when he needs to go. He is already going to the door. Thank you so much for this video. Life is so much calmer and less chaotic. It is also easy to back up and have him come to me when he is on a line all time.

Is it ok to use a collar and house line with a toy poodle. I keep reading how they can get tracheal issues as they're so small. We're going to be getting a toy poodle and I wonder if the house line should be used with a harness instead or is a collar ok? Many thanks from Scotland x
