Although your solution didn't work for me in Windows 10, it did send me into the right menu that allowed me to fix the problem. I appreciate you making this video and indirectly solving my problem.

I can't believe it. I was having issues with Premiere 2014.2 doing this crap with projects. It'd crash as soon as it'd open. Setting compatibility to the same OS that it's running on to make it work? Holy crap, Adobe. That's... wow. Just wow.

Thanks worked for me! The other thing I did that may work for others is I changed my audio hardware and caused the "Change your display" "upgrade your video drivers" which it was but I couldn't get into Premiere. So by putting it in compatibility mode I at least got into (very slow though) change the hardware and now uncheck the compatibility and now works like a champ!

if you got this problem on the AMD graphic card with catalyst app go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro & change the file name or add CC then the AMD catalyst app wont recognize it. Go to the AMD catalyst app & add Premiere Pro  from the power setting & set it on high performance

For AMD users: If it's still crashing for you, go to device manager and uninstall your graphics drivers. Make sure you delete saved driver file. Then scan for hardware changes. It will detect your graphics card, search for latest drivers and install them. Run the program and enjoy! And never update graphics drivers from CCC! It always messes up with Adobe stuff. (According to my experience)

Yes, fixing the compatibility works also on windows 10 with premiere CC, had issues where is wont close after I am done, issues with Export to Media Encoder, and switching workspaces back and forth, so to fix, either run compatibility troubleshooter, from the program properties, or adjust it yourself, but try the troubleshooter first.... it drove me crazy for few days.. hope this helps, , thanks for your video also. good job

It wouldn't work for me because i had the matrox codec, once i deleted it premiere started working
