Stop Wasting Time on Fake Followers: Learn How to Remove Instagram Bots and Grow Your Audience!

I made a huge mistake... 😬
When I was first getting started, I paid for some marketing services that brought in a large number of bot accounts into our follower base. 🤖
Not only was it a waste of money for a vanity metric – but it's KILLED our engagement. 📉
A few months ago, I hired a virtual assistant to go through all of our followers and remove every bot account that they could find. ❌
We had around 92,000 followers, and they worked for about three or four weeks to get it down to around 44,000. So, almost 50,000 fake bot accounts were removed from our Instagram account. 🤯
Why was this decision important?Instagram only shows your content to a small percentage of your follower base.
Based on the engagement from that small percentage, it'll take that content and start showing it to more people based on if they liked it, watched it, or engaged with it. If the majority of your following is bots, then you're not getting any real engagement. 👀
Removing the bots wasn’t an instant fix – but it was a step in the right direction.
After we removed the bot accounts, our engagement plummeted for a while. In Instagram’s eyes, our content must SUCK because we saw a major drop in followers in just a month’s time. 📉
It will take time to undo the damage we did to ourselves when it comes to the algorithm – but luckily, we're now seeing our engagement begin to stack up again.
We've had a couple of videos recently that have popped up to 18k or 12k or 14k, and our minimum view count is starting to rise again. It’s been a hard lesson. But now that we've removed all the bots and are focusing on REAL engagement, I'm excited to see where things go. 🔥
Remember, it's not about having a huge following. It's about having a real, engaged following. 👏
