One way I found out if it's a fake . Is by booting recovery mode . I got a screen with Chinese words and a different mode layout

I have the S8, I wasn't sure if that cell used the newer Samsung plug, etc. Tho technically the cable n wall chargers are normally BLACK for the real S8 and S8 plus but the cable is bigger n not the smaller USB plug.

Another way to verify an Authentic Samsung, connect to usb then to your pc. Then check to see if your pc is looking for drivers other than Samsung, ie: mtk, then it's a fake!

For anyone who doesnt know, if you go to the phone and dial *#0*# it will bring up a hidden test menu on REAL samsung devices. Maybe not on their A series phones but for the flagships this is the easiest way to tell

I hope you dont take offense, but your brother should not be charging you double what he paid for a phone. I can understand if he bought it in hopes of selling it to someone else and you offered the 200 though.

I had no idea that such a complex electronic item as a smart phone could be counterfeited. Rather than simply return this phone, I would let customs and enforcement know who sold your brother this phone. Let them bust him and collect all his unsold stock. I'd tell Samsung as well, although they probably know all about it.
