If someone had 6 million in crypto, you think they would educate themselves a bit more on the subject. Damn.

It is still possible to track the scammer since he cashed out the crypto on a centralized exchange. The centralized exchange has his identity details such as his National ID card, international passport or drivers license, He can still recover his money. Investigation can still be done on the transfer addresses and eventually the scammer can be apprehended

Seems like the crypto version of clicking a link on emails

His issue wasn’t being on an exchange although what you said is true. His issue is he gave a stranger his phrase likely because he believed some too good to be true way of increasing his crypto.

Thanks for the timely post i feel gutted for that guy ....but what the hell was he doing with $6.5m worth of crypto on an exchange ? All the online advice tons of it about keeping your crypto on a cold wallet. It amazes me to think that there are people out there that keep this sort of value on an exchage ...its almost unbelievable !

That’s crazy how he had over $6 million and then loses it that easily. That’s really sad. I can’t imagine.

I can’t believe someone with such amount of money is dumb, makes me wonder how he made the money 🤔

According to the theory, the stolen money from Coinbase, Bingx and Binance was then transferred to a cold wallet Brand tangem, ledger trezor and waited for 50 or 100 years before it was transferred to a savings account. This is what logic means.

Rules to follow as a crypto investor.

Never share your seeds to anyone and I mean anyone

Get a hard wallet

Educate yourself on cryptocurrency

Don’t invest into scam crypto like squid coin

And

Never get overexcited if your portfolio is a million.

If that was my profile, I would never tell anyone about this. Yikes this was hard to accept.

This makes no sense, you said the victim lost their money because they gave their seed phrase to the scammer, you can't even do that if you're on a centralized exchange?

How does the scam work? Did he click on a link or something?

Again it happens, the majority of lost crypto is due to human error. Not exchange error. Sucks but true
