The Holdback Separation Drill | My Favorite Glide Shot Put Drills | Glide Drill #3

One of the biggest mistakes that a beginner glider makes is opening up way too early and losing that separation in the middle of the throw. As coaches we give verbal cues like "keep the arm back" and "look at something behind the circle." But what if there was a drill that taught the feeling of separation outside the circle quickly and easily? Here is a great drill that you can use to teach the thrower how to keep good separation in the middle!

Summer camps for glide shot put, rotational shot put, discus, and javelin are also returning this July to Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Click the link below to learn more and get signed up (Sign ups start on February 1st)

I have an athlete who struggles with getting their hips to engage before their upper body. What drills would you recommended? Thanks, I really enjoy the videos!
