Clean Up, Declutter and Organize with Me! I'm decluttering and organizing my small house to make room for all of our holiday gifts, and sharing tips for How to Declutter in 2025. Clutter is often the result of too much stuff in a smaller space that needs to be sorted into "keeps, trash, and donations", but sometimes it can be misplaced things that you just need to clean up. We're doing a mix of both in today's cleaning and decluttering video, working in my primary bedroom, living room, and kitchen to get things put back where they belong, and purging quite a bit of expired and used up product in my bathroom to transform my small bathroom organization system!

I can’t believe it’s already 2025! Where has the time gone?? I’ve got so much planned for this year, lots of new house projects & improvements, fun home decor, and full blown renovations/makeovers…but before I can get to that I need to tackle all of the clutter than has accumulated. 😅 So here we are, starting off the new year with more decluttering & organizing. It truly never ends lol.

I sort my laundry - darks, lights, towels, and sheets all separate. And I think just like you that I need to wait until I have a full load of each! 😊

I'm a sorter, and I'm always shocked to see YouTubers just throw tons of clothes~ reds, whites, darks, and WHITES! into the washing machine together! 😳 Recently one lady pulled off her whole pile of bedding off the bed ~ comforter, sheets, blanket, everything into a big wad and shoved it into her washer!!! 😳🥴 I couldn't believe she didn't at least separate the sheets, etc. and throw them in! I wondered how the heck they can get clean all balled up together like that! 😂 ❤ Oh well! It's great to see you, Megan! You did a great job doing all of that laundry and organizing ❤

I sort my laundry before washing. It just works for me. Clothing is so expensive I like to take care of what I have.

I sort my clothes too. There are so many that don’t do that but I was taught at an early age to do it.

Yes, I sort! I also see many do not but I was taught to do this relative to how hot or cold the water setting is to be, if pre-treating is needed (like on whites!) and what needs special care (like knits, lingerie, delicate items). If this makes a lull time where I don't have a full load, I may mix whites with lighter-colored linens (sheets, towels, pillowcases, light curtains, throws and tablecloths). This satisfies my "full load" mentality and gets things through the process more quickly. I have to say, when desperate (like after surgery and when I was doing major caregiving) I mixed stuff and dried many items on High to just finish while sleepwalking or sick! I did look closely at laundry labels and bought myself a guide to the rune-like symbols on many clothes nowadays... That helped me as I am older and recall whole words spelled out re care instructions! I placed that chart on my hot water heater as it had metallic backing and sticks there, nicely close to my washing machine. I also reduced the amount of things in our closets and storage areas to better be able to notice when we were getting low on items of common use... Such a lot of opinions re how to launder and how to keep track! My husband has noticed I will often mark a day with laundry as THE PRIORITY meaning other tasks get done but Laundry Rules the Day with more of my attention and energy put in that direction... -- Enjoyed your video and like the mood you set very much! I sort all my clothes too for washing. Also do my sheets, towels, and rugs as separate loads.

I love my kindle - I use the Libby app that connects to our public library and read mostly library books.

I have dedicated laundry baskets, one for wites, one for colors, one dark, one for bedding and one towels & cloths and things like that. So it's pre sorted, I can grab a basket from the bathroom and throw it in the wash 😊

Laundry used to be a huge issue for me but I've learned that it's ok to do a smaller load of laundry. And a load away day keeps my mind at ease and the mess away...

I sort my laundry the same as you. I've seen the YouTubers who toss their laundry in without sorting. I cringe! It was instilled in me by my mother a very long time ago. It's just part of taking care of your belongings so they will last longer.
I enjoyed seeing your home still decorated just one more time before you put it all away. Your home is so beautiful, Megan! I still have my Christmas decor up. I keep it up until January 30th every year because that's my birthday. I enjoy my decor to the fullest. Great video and I can't wait to see your upcoming videos ❤

Yes. Sort whites, light colours, dark colours, bedding, towels. It's how I was taught and can't imagine doing it any different.
