Translocation: Phloem - GCSE science, Biology (9-1)
Показать описание
This short Tassomai tutorial video explains the concept of translocation - the movement of dissolved substances such as glucose around a plant.
It will help you learn and revise content required for all major GCSE specifications including AQA Separate, AQA Trilogy, AQA Synergy, Edexcel Combined, Edexcel Separate, OCR 21st Century, OCR Gateway, WJEC Combined, WJEC Separate, IGCSE, CIE Coordinated and CIE Separate.
3 key facts to remember about phloem:
1- Phloem tissue consists of long tube structures of living cells with perforated membranes at regular intervals.
2- Water containing high concentration of glucose move from the leaves through the phloem.
3- This process is driven by hydrostatic pressure (where more water coming into the leaf pushes out the glucose solution).
If you’re a Tassomai user, this video will help you answer 7 quiz questions!
Key Words: Biology, Translocation, Transportation, transpiration, leaf, glucose, photosynthesis, respiration, xylem, phloem, minerals, water, root, root leaf cell, GCSE, Tassomai, Science, AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC, iGCSE, CIE
