AND I GET IT YOUR RELICS ARE AMAZING AND YOU ARE SO GOOD SO THE GAME ISNT HARD.
But for the vast majority of people the game IS difficult, and I am NOT everyone. So I want to get an idea of how EVERYONE feels on the difficulty.

as someone who just started playing and doesn’t grind or do anything that takes way too much time, i cant even get past story levels. im trying to finish the ruan mei story event thing before its over and i cant get past even the first phase of the boss

I'm just a couple of hours in and I am already struggling lol. There is this boss fight after meeting some dude on the snow planet. He is tanky, and he keeps summoning more adds, and you have to fight him after already fighting a bunch of soldiers.

I love that it's a challenge, it gives you a reason to get stronger and when you do and finally beat that level the satisfaction is amazing

I thought the game was a tad too easy before SU:SD, with MoC being the only challenge, but if they keep releasing content like the Swarm Disaster and can maintain challenges like this on a semi-regular basis, I think the difficulty is perfect. Casual and easy throughout the its soft fluffy core, nice and crunchy and thoughtful on the edges.

To be honest, I’ve been struggling with levels in star rails whether it character or artifacts/relics. Hell SU is kinda rough. And I’ve just been not enjoying it much maybe because I don’t have the greatest of characters

I fucking HATE the dificulty. I´ve had to stop right on my tracks on bosses three times by now, which has hindered my gaming experience a LOT, cause I´ll have to go grind for weeks to get my characters to a decent enough level, get better relics, light cones, etc and like... by then I absolutely fogot what the story was. Bro, it took me like two months to get out of the Xianzhou and into Penacony just cause of the final boss and now I´m stuck at the final boss of Penacony AGAIN! WHAT?! My characters got to phase 2 with full HP but the game was like "nah, dawg, fuck that shit, you getting star railed right now".
I´ve never had this problem with Genshin. I like that Honkai makes you switch your party to better suit the enemy you face, but does it have to be this agressive? Like, man, I´m doing my absolute best here. I´ve farmed for months and put as much time as humanly possible, but somehow the game still found ways to make all of that absolutely worthless.
I´ll be honest, it´s frustrating. Optional content being this hard is one thing, but the main story? Bruh.
Love the game, but maybe this is the reason why I´ve dropped it for two months once, it´s just not even satisfactory once you clear the thing that was bothering you cause it took way too much time.

I don’t know, because I don’t do MoC and usually only sim uni.
Haven’t played swarm yet.
Still waiting for PS5 release until I grind other content

I don't have much of a feeling towards the difficulty. I'm still at the character building phase so most of my units are just passable. I can clear the SU but only because of the buffs and for swarm I only finished level 4 because I got stupidly lucky with blessings. I don't bother with MoC.

I finally cleared MoC the last two times with full stars and was really happy. Then Swarm came out and I can barely clear level 3 difficulty. It’s a lot of fun though it’s nice to see my account progress and get stronger each week. If everything was a breeze and easy then I’d get bored and drop the game most likely. HSR has been such a treat to play and I love seeing videos from everyone enjoying the game too.

As a light spender (Express Supply card and Nameless Honor pass each month) I find the late stages of MOC and Swarm Disaster V, the only hard things in the game right now. And I know as time goes on it will get easier as my account gets stronger (just like in Genshin), so I am not worried at all.

The only thing that "may" worry me is if power creep (through each character they release) keeps pushing the games difficulty higher, as I will not be able to afford getting every character that comes out just to keep up. As long as they keep it so that my older characters stay viable for at least 6 months then I think I can manage. But if they fall off in 90 days then I am going to struggle too much.

I want to like this game so much as there are so many aspects about it I enjoy (Story, characters, environments, etc.), but the combat (specifically with bosses) is so damn hard that I'm convinced the devs intend for you to grind for months straight just to even have a shot at winning.

As someone who works a full eight hour shift seven days a week (mainly because my boss is an arrogant asshole, but that's a personal thing), I don't have the time to invest hours of my life into min/max-ing every single character I get.

I only got up to the Svarog boss fight in World 4 of SU before I gave up, it's just way too hard for me.

I find the difficulty pretty near perfect. It might be slightly more difficult than I'd like. It depends so highly on your units though, who you've pulled, and who you've built. If I had Luocha especially, I think it'd be quite a bit easier. It's probably fine the way it is and we're just too early in the game to have sufficient character coverage unless you're a whale.

I began playing a little over a month ago on the First week of December and honestly, I find it a bit too difficult. I have a decent mix of characters, am leveling them and not doing the worst Relic/Artifact wise and light cone wise, but I feel things like the Starcrusher Swarm king in the new Ruan mei event is just too difficult, same as Argenti in his Companion Mission. I always have been more a person to prefer story over challange and feel the challanges here is blocking me from enjoying the story and events with how stressed out I get having to pull up this guide, that guide, reddit, youtube etc to try and find a recommended comp to beat one enemy and try to grind for hours for this or that artifact just for me to still lose. I wish it had a way to lower the difficulty by one like genshin does. Sure you could say it might remove the challange etc, but not everyone is here for the challenge. If you are, just don't lower Eq Level.

I love the difficulty in swarm because you can absolutely break the game by knowing what blessings to pick and your characters' base power doesn't matter too much. For example, Nihility is so broken that I cleared difficulty 5 without a single DoT character because I just stacked preservation and fighting spirit blessings with as many nihility ones as I could.
Outside of swarm, my relics are garbage but I can still 30* MoC because I stack BE on 2 of my characters per side and rely on that damage to chunk the bosses (I don't even want Silver Wolf to implant other weaknesses, just Quantum for the breaks lol)
Being F2P in HSR compared to Genshin makes it so satisfying when I clear stuff with the units the game gave me because I overcame the difficulty with limited options.

As a casual gamer, I can just ignore the hard content until I’m ready to try doing it.
Sure, I might miss out on MoC rewards and such, but I don’t really care.
So the difficulty being overwhelming, from my casual viewpoint, is a pacing issue.
