The wiring diagram shows 2SC2078 and the video shows 2SC3950. They are close enough.
The packages are different, the two outer leads are reversed.
The power is connected between emitter and collector.
The power is also connected to the primary in series with a 220pF capacitor.
There is a 22pF capacitor connected across the power.
These are very strange connections.

The emitter and collector are shorting the battery when the transistor turns on.
The primary is connected across the battery which would shunt the high frequency energy.
The base receives bias from the 10K resistor.
It gets feedback from the current in the low end of the secondary.
Such a strange circuit, but it seems to light the fluorescent lamp.
I have not tried it.

This is a great device and i want to make it but there are some issues that i couldnt understand. As per the drawing, you need to connect one of the primary end to the transistor and the other is connected to capacitor. But in the video you connect the primery end to transistor and secondary end is connected to the capacitor. Can you share the true diagram?

All of the diagrams I've seen for these seem to be incorrect. You never usually wire the supply directly to the collector and emitter of a transistor. If you wire it as a 'slayer exciter' (battery powered mini tesla coil), it works much better.

Nice, but its 2 Big, plus you need a driver so not to burn the transistor on full power, use higher power tran. to get more power.

Why in the circuit is 1, 5 mm for the first winding, but in the video is it 1 mm? What's the correct size for the first and for the second winding? Thanks.
