This is a prime example of searching for copper and finding gold. Nobody was expecting anything like this, which made it even more perfect than it already is

That moment when you realize this is a Morty that outsmarted every Rick in the Citadel - including the Rickest of all Ricks.

Maybe the the reason why all Jerry’s are losers inside the finite curve is because they’re all the smartest beyond the curve.

Evil Morty’s ways are terrible. But him being that desperate to get away from someone like Rick is understandable

0:22 man i love this shot, for several reasons

the biggest one being is that we all forget morty is a 14 year old kid, and this look on evil morty's face is him being amazed by something he's never witnessed before like every other kid, and its like he finally gets to breathe and be himself once he breaks through the finite curve and get a home that doesnt have rick looming over him like an omnipresent demon

I love "evil" Morty's theme here. It's so much more emotional than the previous version. It feels triumphant and yet somewhat sad and open ended. This Morty has finally escaped Rick and that's his greatest success. He doesn't need Rick, and he doesn't want him.Hes not out for vengeance, he just wants a life that doesn't have an "and" in it.He could've killed C-137 but had no interest.Because that would be playing Rick's game. This theme represents "Evil" Morty's game.

That breath of Rick free air...
Wonder if tears of happiness could have made it better or not...

The fact that he’s a villain because his motivation is to run away from his abuser is incredibly good writing.

Damn dude it was such a simple motivation. To get away from Rick.

I find the shot at 0:39 so interesting.
All around morty is space a huge vacume no air yet its the only time he can breathe a sigh of relief, cause he finally is at peace.

I love how the evil morty theme changed from a dark depressive song to a somewhat hopefull and fullfilling song, revealing the fact that while he was indeed a bad person he didnt wanted just see rick suferring, he just wanted TRUE freedom....and he actually did get it

What if this was the good ending. Morty that’s with Rick will eventually outgrow him. It’s inevitable, and the proof just flew away free from all Ricks. Ricks have brought so much misery that eventually even a whole universe isn’t enough to fill how lonely he is.

i like how this episode just completely proves theorists wrong about the evil morty being the original morty meanwhile me who knew rick was the only one without a family, THATS why hes the rickest rick

This is how you win Emmy awards... I'm 32 and I cried watching this. Beside being visually stunning, everyone has yearned for some sort of freedom at some point in their lives, and seeing this Morty gain his was beautiful.

it’s funny how difficult it was to look for 1 universe where rick isn’t the smartest person

Honestly this scene has to be one of the best I have ever seen in animation.

EDIT: Y'all, I never said it was "the best." I was saying that at the time I thought it was "one of the best." Mostly for the cumination of Evil Morty's goals being relized, the "heroes" losing in the end, and the music and visuals. I never said it was better than scenes such as Goku's fight against Frieza during the Namek Saga.

Imagine that your entire existence is defined by your relationship to another person. Then imagine there's an _infinite universe_ out there where _all_ universes are defined by that relationship.

No matter where you go, no matter what you do, you will always be the sidekick. You are trapped, forever, in an endless loop where you are the fall guy, the punching bag, and the butt of all jokes.

Then imagine there's a world out there that's never even heard of Rick Sanchez.

How far would you go in order to reach that world? What would you sacrifice? What lines would you cross?

I'm not saying what Evil Morty did was right.

I'm just saying I understand.

Rules of Rick and morty:
1) At least 1 Rick and 1 morty shall be the focus of all episodes
2) Rick will always be a jerk at the end
3) morty will always be a loser at the end
4) morty will never have a permanent girlfriend
5) EVIL MORTY ALWAYS WIN
