What is a Quanta of Energy? #physics

Here's a not so short short about the beginnings of quantum theory.
This time period, from Planck in 1901 up to the mid 1920s is generally referred to as 'old quantum theory'. It wasn't until 1925 when Heisenberg developed matrix mechanics that we moved into the world of 'modern quantum theory'.
But this doesn't mean the old descriptions were wrong, they were just limited. Planck's quantisation of energy still holds for all electrons, even if their orbits are a bit more complicated than Bohr and Rutherford thought.
