i'm a musician so the way the audio sounds for me is invaluable. ironically i had this exact same problem on an old labtop, and despite looking for answers for months my only options were to either do literally everything with headphones on or stop what i was doing and restart once the sound started to get distorted. you are a life saver.

Hey everyone, if you have this problem, and do not see the same "enhancements" tab that you do in the video, I found a fix that worked for me.

First, go to your playback devices window, next select the speaker and click on properties. If there is a tab called "Dolby", click that. There should be a blue power buton in the window, click that then hit apply.

Windows have changed settings around since this video was uploaded, so if this works for you, like this comment so more people can see it

Just bought my laptop yesterday. Had a mini heart-attack when i heard the rumbling noise inside the laptop when playing audio at max volume.
But after changing the format to 24-bit 44100 Hz, it was resolved. Thank you so much! I've subbed 😄

holy shit i was dubious at first, since the only thing i could change on my computer was the advanced sound settings from 48000 hz to 44100 hz but it actually worked like magic, absolutely magical

For anyone that needs help this is what I did: 1. Right click speakers icon in bottom right of PC 2. Click the "sounds" option 3. Double click the "Speakers" option. 4. Go to Advanced Tab. 5. uncheck "Enable Audio enhancements". Hope this helps!!

If anyone is having their audio distorted by the way, try making the volume all the way up and back down to normal in your headphones for realtek, then I started hearing audio normally again.
