My parents are from New Haven Conn. I was weaned on Pepe's. The coal ovens puts a crust on them which is a delicacy by itself. Many other pizzas can be greatly improved simply by cooking them more.

Oh hey I wanted to add! From Connecticut here, and yes clams are huge here. That pizza in particular is called the clams casino, and it's quite good. Basically just a white sauce with cheese and clams. If you like seafood, you'll like the clams casino

Being from New York, it’s impossible to pick a best spot. There are way too many.

Between the numerous cities throughout the state and all of the cultures it’s just not possible.

A Domino's Pizza opened a location close to my home and my new favorite is their "ExtravaganZZa", with a Brooklyn Style crust. ❤

Stuffed Crust Pepperoni and Pineapple is probably my favorite. One of my favorite pizza places is Star Pizza in Houston, TX

I like several types of pizza but my ultimate favorite is a meat lovers, with mushrooms, pineapple, onions, and sometimes spinach with a Garlic parmesan sauce, or a barbecue sauce, or (at work) I can put marinara sauce on the bottom and have barbecue sauce drizzled on top of the pizza after it’s cooked. I also like what’s called a Hawaiian pizza with is ham, pineapple, Italian sausage, and salami. A chicken, bacon, ranch pizza is good as well. These are my top favorites.

Regina Pizza is the best in the North End! So good. Then there is Santarpios in East Boston.. both so goood.

The best pizzas in Iowa come from two places. One is carry out or delivery only named Casey's, it is a quick stop kind of place with gas, fresh made donuts and pastries, breakfast pizza, sub sandwiches and a variety of regular and specialty pizzas. And there is Happy Joe's Pizza a restaurant chain that is the originators of the taco pizza 🍕. My favorite at Casey's is the smoked brisket pizza that is seasonal, chicken ranch pizza a specialty or their 4 meat pizza. At Happy Joe's Pizza is of course their taco pizza, the Supreme and barn burner pizzas. Both of these pizza sources are Iowa born businesses 👏.

I agree with Milly on the, as we call it here, The Hawaiian pizza. That has Ham & Pineapple. The others I like are with these toppings (1) a BBQ base with chicken and banana peppers and (2) has to be green olives & Italian sausage. Never say "I don't like" until you try the food / pizza in general. Unless your allergic to the food itself. Don't be so "picky".

My sister lives in Arizona, we were raised in NYC. She always complains about not finding good pizza. She did say that, Pizzeria Bianco is her favorite. High praise indeed coming from a frustrated pizza lover. I live in Colorado and cannot confirm that pick, I have not tried it.... James said, let us know what is your favorite chain. In the U.S. the best pizzerias are not chain restaurants. Some of the pizzas you thought were different, use locally popular food items. Elk in Alaska and clams in Maine (northeast).

I'm kind of a weirdo when it comes to pizza. My tastes range from a simple sausage and mushroom all the way to everything but the kitchen sink (at least 3 meats, all veg incl. pineapple) all with extra cheese. I love tomato based red sauce as the base (usually marinara).

i can tell you being from MIchigan, and the detroit area, they got it correct with Buddys.
so buddy's was started techicnally in 1936 but after world war 2, US troups from italy that were detroiters brought in pizza from what is Scilian sytle pizza.
and in Detroit, it was the car production assembly line/union big spot . so what they did was they used some car oils pans or pans of some sort that were 100% clean and cooked the pizza i there, and they utilize those pans to this day. the original location was on six mile rd and Connat in Detroit. and it expanded to 10 locations 30 years ago, actaully now they have 15 but 90% of them are iwthin 45 minutes of downtown detroit.
it is a square pizza. they put sauce on top of the cheese, and there is a even a little cheese baked into the crust. they use wisconson brick cheese as the most prominatn cheese, however there is a blend of cheezes that ONLY the owners of buddys and kraft knows and they sentd to all the locations.
buddy's had been voted number one pizza in detroit/michigan literally every year almost for close to 70 years by just about every major course that conducts these thigns.
in fact, the food network themselved put buddy's as one of the top 5 in the country.

buddys IS detroit style pizza. there are a fwe others that are considerd detroit style that have smliarties, but Buddy's IS th eheart and sould of it.

they also use speicif ovens etc.. it tatstes best if you come and sit/dine in. they also have a very good antipasto salad with a really good vinigerette type dressin gthat is really good.
i was born in the 70s, and my entir elife i can tell you anyone that had ever moved out that grew up here, any time they come back to visit their familys ALWAYS make a piotn to make at leat one meal at buddys for pizza.
every person ever that came to visit and taken out for pizza, always want to eat there every time they visit as well.

in addition. in Texas, these 2 brothers that grew up in Detroit/the area. that werew cooks. and moved to Austin Texas, about 7-9 years, maybe 10 years ago now opened up 2 trailers in downtosn seving pizza that was based on buddy's pizz awhich iw about 95 percent accurate to bein buddys. these guys were cooks but also followed around trucks to all the suppliers and fitured out the pnas, ovens, everything to use. they could not get the cheese though as i previously mentioend it was a secret blend only kraft and the owners know so they cold not do that other than kowing wisconson brick is the main /biggest portion.

and with 2-3 year the opened up their firsrt actual restaurnat. and now they are one of the most popular pizzas in the austin area.

they call it Via313 detroit style pizza (as detroit is area code 313). plus they serve vernon's ginger ale, and faygo pop products both detroit staples for carbonated beverages. even offer superman ice cream on the dessert menu, a michigan ice cream flavor.

if you come to michigan i highly recommend you go there at least once. and order the pizza. as well as the anti pasto

btw. MIchigna is one of the pizza capitols of the US. we have so many good pizza places it is't even funny.
in fact, Hungry Howies, Little Ceasars, Dominoes amont others are all orginally from the detroit area. there are a coul eothers i can't thin of.
but anyway. just thought i would add a little to waht they sai din the video. as i realize they only have like 20 seconds or less to describe each pizza. lol

I like meatball or sausage on my pizza. Sometimes I like grilled chicken with roasted red peppers.
